Yes, you were the only person:) My first thought was he had gone and crushed the life out of Fitzpatrick and robbed us of 12 mil we could have paid him for the year, lol.

I'd keep JM, cut Ross if you need a roster spot. Ross is older, he won't be here in a year or two, Marshall could be long term.

    Some takeaways:

-Special teams vastly improved. Punter looks very good and return game strong.
-Hack made some good throws and some head scratchers for sure. However he showed some life and that's all you can ask for.
-Powell ran hard as always. Forte's footwork is sweet and looks like he still has some shake.
    -Mo Wilkerson is beast mode.

Peake needs to hit the weight room. If he can learn how to use his body like Marshall does he'll be a beast. Too many times he's halfway open and the DB rubbing up against him trying to make a play either makes him lose focus or screws up his catching form.

Baby Marshall needs to work on his focus too, he could have easily had as good a game as Robby.

How about the 4-3 base defense last night? They completely blew up the Giants o-line (which is really not saying much). This was the first time that I have seen the Jets run a 4-3 since the Herm days.

Bowles likes to switch things up a lot, but I hope the 4-3 stays in rotation because Wilkerson, Williams, McLendon & Richardson all on the field at the same time is just absurd. It felt like a race to the get to the ball.

I want to see more of the first time 3-4 look, though. I understand with the injury to Jenkins they weren't the most well staffed for that look and the 4-3 did excellent, but I want to see Mauldin get open with the big guys struggling with the havok makers up front. Wanna see some mad dashes from our linebackers.

Also, was it just me or did it feel like they only had 2 true linebackers out there half the time?

I'm not sure if I trust Mauldin with run defense yet. We almost never run a base defense anyway, which I think is a cool part of Bowles' defense. So, Mauldin will surely be there on passing situations and against pass heavy offenses (NE, Miami)

Catapano played really well, too. I know he doesn't flash on the screen, but he set the edge really nicely last night, which was why Bowles moved Richardson to OLB last year.

Highlight of the game. Then TB started moving guys around and it got worse for the Giants. The D pretty much dominated that part of the game.

Sanchez was from a pro style offense, didn't help him much.

Didn't know that, and no it didn't. To be fair though he is slightly better than Geno.

Until the young guys prove otherwise, I think that LB is still going to be one of the weaknesses of this team, especially if Harris has any lingering effects of injury.
The DL is going to wreak havoc and help out the secondary in the process, Calvin Pryor is the real deal and I expect big things.

On offense, it is tough to gauge how bad the OL is going to be, but it has to be a big concern. The weapons are there, but I would expect if were to have a successful season, it is because we won a bunch of low scoring close games.

You have to like the way the special teams were addressed.
