So you hated Revis iin 09 when he literally shut down every #1 WR in the league and had arguably the greatest season ever for a CB? Anyway for me it's Geno Dee Dex Let's give winters this year when he's playing natural side before we run him out of jersey.
Mark Gastineau is my most hated Jet of all time He is personally responsible for ruining 3 seasons and questionably a fourth '84 partying at a nightclub with rookie Ken O'Brien...Gastineau gets arrested and drags O'Brien down with him. O'Brien spends the pre-season in court and loses training camp development time '86 play-off game vs Cleveland Roughing the passer leads to single worst loss in Jets history '87 Crosses picket line, leading to general team dissension; 2-0 start goes down the drain '88 Quits on team mid-season to be with Brigitte Nielsen 2nd & 3rd don't even matter
That roughing the passer penalty in cleveland turned that game around. Scrub DB Carl Howard roughed Kosar on the same play. Jets were totally undisciplined under Joe Walton. In fact, all 4 of your examples occurred during Walton's tenure.
I saw Richardson and Pryor? LOL. People don't hate McDougle...wasted pick? Maybe. Same with Amaro, I don't understand a hatred, he just hasn't been healthy. Difference between those and Dee Milliner is DM was supposed to be the new Revis, and he's constantly injured with him basically putting on his clothes. And relying on him for about 3 seasons now has been a chore. Geno is obvious. And I feel Breno is another obvious one. Winters as well.
This Thread right here shows how pathetic some Jets fans are. We are over two weeks away from kickoff and you guys are worried about who's the top 3 most unpopular jet. This Thread right here shows and proves what Jet fans get a bad name.
I don't know how any longtime Jets fan can hate or even dislike #24 as a player. Sure, he's been financially greedy (like most stars at their respected position) but he's without question one of the top-5 most dominant Jets of All-Time. Without Revis we don't sniff consecutive AFC Championship games. Without Revis as our true #1 our current CB group would be disastrous due to lack of experience. Without Revis we wouldn't have a fighting chance of a top 5 defense moving forward and without the greatness of Revis we wouldn't have Sheldon Richardson as of today either. And for everyone criticizing the level of play regarding Revis due to 2-3 off games last year, well guess what? He still ranked as a top 3 CB last year while ranking #1 in completion percentage against (with an injured/hurt wrist at that). I feel bad for the likes of Jet fans who haven't been able to enjoy his dominance/greatness (all because of some type of weird agenda against the guy). He's easily one of my all-time favorite players right up there with #28 Curtis Martin. 1st Ballot Hall of Famer if you've ever seen one (his #24 will also be retired for the Jets one day). And I absolutely love how he decided to return to N.Y in hopes of leading us to a title. It made me sick to see Revis in a Patriots uniform. I can picture Revis having another 3 dominant seasons at CB before taking the Charles Woodson approach and feasting at FS (his fundamentals & defensive I.Q are both off the charts). Also, did I see a fan bashing Calvin Pryor? Good Lord, he's an up & coming/emerging star at the Safety position. He's physical & tough (the opposite of Kerry Rhodes) and plays the run like an LB (his style of play reminds me so much of Bob Sanders without the injury bug). The Louisville Slugger's on the verge of becoming an NFL house-hold name. I'll never understand some Jet fans and their thought process. Mind boggling at times.
Every Jet to wear the number 7 has sucked. With the exception of Tom Tupa. We should retire that number upside down forever. Esiason, O'Brien, Geno, Reich
I fear Marshall is a 3 game losing streak away from a complete meltdown. Making him a top 5 contender for most unpopular.
