Being born in 1985 combined with the fact that 1983 was Richard Todd's last season (with NYJ) I believe it's safe to say that he was a little before my time.

I know statistics never show not even the half but damn, it's looking like he had some brutal season's in terms of being a turnover machine. Years of 17, 22, 26 & 30 INT season's as a Jet. Also fumbled the football 41 times.

Even during the playoffs managed to throw 12 INT's with 4 fumbles during only 4 playoff games.

I'm glad I wasn't there to witness those days. Must've been frustrating to say the least. 1998 (Denver), 2009 (Indianapolis) & 2010 (Pittsburgh) AFC Championship Game defeats still bother me as a fan. Disheartening to say the least but those Richard Todd days must've been rough to live through all of those turnovers. In bunches too.

DWC, if you watched the Mud Bowl, you would have thought Todd bet on the Dolphins, 38 passes he threw and almost everyone could have been intercepted

Yea. 5 INT's during the 1982 AFC Championship Game has got to go down as one of the biggest choke jobs of Franchise history. He was bad but I didn't realize just how ugly it truly was.

There is one #14 who I remember being pretty bad for us. Neil O'Donnell. 97 was much better when compared to 1996 where he was absolutely atrocious during that 1-15 season. Should've known better after watching him throw those two INT's vs. Dallas during the SB while with the Steelers.

How about when Parcells took him out for a few series in the biggest game of the season vs the Lions and put Ray Lucas in, then blew the game by having Leon Johnson throw a half back option pass into the end zone that was picked

I'll never forget that game. 1997 I was 12-13 years old. Was so pumped up heading into that week 17 game while my older brother couldn't stop talking about playoff football for the Jets. I just remember our offense not being able to score while Barry Sanders rushed for damn near 200 yards against us (unstoppable). He hit over 2,000+ rushing yards on the season against us on that day.

I also remember seeing something for the 1st time during that game. Inside the dome. The Lions were warned/penalized for too much/obsessive crowd noise. You remember that?

I thought I was watching the Twilight Zone that game, Parcells coaching was memorable, for all the wrong reasons

Yea, wasn't the best of Parcells on that day although when looking back going from 1-15 (96) to 9-7 (97) was one of the best turnaround season's a team has ever seen. That 1997 season gave us lots of hope heading into 1998 which is where we took off (until Vinny tore his ACL week 1 of 1999).

But yea O'Donnell was mentally shot after losing Pittsburgh's super bowl with two jaw-dropping INT's. Like Tyson getting knocked out by Buster Douglas; O'Donnell never got up from the Dallas meltdown.

It wasn't the Super Bowl. O'Donnell was just never that good in the first place. The Super Bowl didn't ruin him, expectations did. He was just a good backup/fringe starter that the Jets gave Franchise QB money to. He also had a piss poor attitude. That one is on the Jets. Parcells cut him, signed Vinny and SAVED $3 Million.

The Bengals also inexplicably gave him a big deal after Parcells cut him. He's got to be one of the luckiest MoFos there is.
