Oh, so you don't even watch football. That's apparent. Go do some research, start at 1976 and look at every draft up till now.
You will notice not one team drafting backwards as you would. Proof is in the pudding. I can't help you dude.
Catch up some. Then we will talk.

Before you go nighty-night, Sonny Boy, take a look to the left and figure out when and where that was taken. I was at that game and a couple of years later I got my first Jets season tickets. Yeah, I guess you could say the Jets have taught me a lot about patience. Jackass.

I'm sorry, so instead of being young and dumb, you must be just plain dumb. Big difference between patience and just being dumb.
I've watched them since I was a kid, unfortunately. But I've never tried to convince a person who has played the sport, watched the sport and loved the sport, this team in particular, to draft ass backwards.

You played the sport? And that makes you a draft expert?

You love the sport? And that makes you a draft expert?

But you still can't put together a cogent statement to back up your claim "It would be accepatble if he wasn't horrible but he is."

    Go to bed.

    Jackass!

BTW, I really like how you equate not playing or watching Madden to not watching football. You punks make me laugh.

By the way, see that picture to the left?
I was at that game, got real close to the guy in the picture. He was a first round draft choice, plug-n-play guy.
Not a project player, like most other early round picks by every team in the history of the NFL. You might try to come off as genius, but sorry bub, you can't reinvent the wheel. Teams value early picks to assure the team quality players, not projects of the 3-5 year kind. i thought you watched football? If you can't see that, you are a trolling joke.

    Do you hold season tickets?
    You obviously don't use them.
    Someone give you a picture?
I bet you were there, hell you don't love football. You aren't a fan of this team, or you would know what I'm talking about. You aren't even a fan of football. Did you play? nope you didn't, because you don't have fundamental insight. Even the simple things go over your head. You r a laugh

You realize that you are trying to say that our supposed favorite team is sitting on this secret 2nd round talent of the future, and he can't play in the preseason, not because he isn't any good, but because the coaches don't want us to know how good he is. Right? Are you fucking for real?

By the way, dumbass, that was "Boozer32" quote you have bolded, not mine. But Boozer is still right, and once again you are wrong.

I'm guessing one could place Aaron Rodgers as a 'project,' being a player with an unorthodox throwing motion, and coming out of a quarterback system under Jeff Tedford that notoriously does not produce NFL calibre quarterbacks. Worked out pretty well for them.

To make a blanket statement that every college player that isn't considered to be pro-ready right out of college flops is so ignorant.

I think the OP also forgets that Hackenberg was fourth round material drafted in the second round. And fourth rounders don't normally get any time when there are three other QBs on the roster.

I think there was a 50/50 view on Hack, a lot of pro scouts thought that if Obrien stayed in PS, Hack would have developed well and become a top 5 pick.

He was projected as a 4th rounder because Obrien did not stay and his development stalled.

I think the jets are looking at Hack from the perspective of the "if Obrien stayed at PS Hack would have developed into a top 5 pick"

So yes he is a project this year, but if he lives up to his potential under Gailey, we could see him battling for the starting spot next year.

This post just shows how utterly clueless you are. He was drafted for his potential and unless he lit it up in TC was never going to sniff a start this year.

Do you not understand that the round a player is drafted does not automatically make them "plug and play"? Hackenberg was not drafted to play this year no matter how many times you say it.

Now you are just making yourself look like a fool. Don't start talking about others not knowing football until you have a clue yourself.

I hope so. He did great his first year but any time a player regresses that drastically it's cause for concern.

Hey waterboy looking at our draft history our fourth round picks have a better chance of panning out than our second rounders so I guess that works out for Petty to have the better shot :)

Once again this logic is silly and stupid to be frank. Yes, they are paid professionals. But that does NOT mean they are infallable... that does not mean that a fan should NOT criticize the FO or question why a QB taken with a top fifty pick has not taken one snap in a pre-season game When was this the last time this happened. I've seen an NFL take Tim Tebow and Manizel in the first round, yea, when a FO makes questionable decisions I'll criticize them.

Hopefully the team is put in the position, in the next year or so, where they have to choose which starting caliber QB to stick with.

IMO, that showdown is already pretty much over barring a profound regression or serious injury on Petty's part. Geno's been gut shot and is barely registering a pulse.....

And if you think Rodgers was a project, you might be the stupidest yet. He was a first round pick that slipped. He, unlike hack played behind a HOF QB.
