It was a panic checkdown that was getting stuffed

Regardless....it just reminded me of some games last year that annoyed the shit out of me

Can we please just see the offense move the ball down the field? Like right out of the gate

Maybe Chan should try some no huddle in the 1st quarter of games this season

I'd love to see the offense do better. Fitz was immediately pressured and did the right thing by checking down on that 3rd down. That's not a bad play on his part and it's not his fault Powell didn't catch it. I mean he had his one bad pass on 3rd down but that was one of two and you're saying "he was particularly bad on 3rd down".

The slow offensive start seemed more painful because of how bad the defense did giving up two long ass drives sandwiched around the 3 and out, then a 2 and fumble followed by redskins score. That's how games go sometimes. It's not the QB's fault the defense is getting shitted on and the receivers are dropping good passes.

I think it was it just brought back bad memories of our losses last season....same script

He didn't do anything particularly bad but come on I wanna see some juice..some points out of the 1st string offense

I understand we're a defensive team but we gotta put some pressure on the other side once in a while or it's going to be rough for the first half of the season

Same here. For once, I'd like to see an offense that imposes their will on the other team in an intimidating way. I'm tired of them feeling their way into scoring.

There were moments last season where it felt that way, but it wasn't consistent.

I mean obviously Fitz is never going to be the man at QB. He's capable, not terrible.

Where did I say that? To be honest I'm more worried about Fitz play then Geno. He is after all the starter. I guess you're ok with his play so far? Let's not forget Reskins didn't play any of the starting CBs

I was at Fed Ex Field last night. At the very least, the game validated me making this thread and asking the questions. Petty looked pretty good. Geno looked bad. It has nothing to do with how you feel about this player or that player. It's just what your eyes show you. I was right behind the bench too. The team has great chemistry. They communicate well and Fitz was helping each of the young QB's including Hackenberg. Nice to see.

He almost looks confused. And the fundamental breakdowns are a symptom of his confusion.

Every mistake he makes is another blow to his confidence it would appear. Like that intentional grounding gaff...

If Fitz goes down and Geno's the back up Gailey will have his work cut out to help Geno succeed.

Agree, IMHO Geno has not improved at all; irrespective, of what some posters may think he hasn't.

The bad news is yet another qb and 2nd rd pick is down the drain. The good news is another qb looks like he might be up and coming. So, while we don't have the answer yet atleast we have more possibilities on the roster right now.

IMO Petty is waaay ahead of Geno and will beat him out by a country mile for #2.

I was at the game last night and it just felt Petty had the respect and demand of the huddle. Plus the ball comes out way smoother than Geno...

I may be mistaken (someone who followed his whole career at WVU may be better able to speak to this), but I don't recall seeing Geno play with the latter mindset, and I saw him play quite a lot while he was WVU. I didn't see all that much of Sanchez at USC, but I don't recall his having that mindset, either. The two have one other thing in common. Their HC was a well-known doofus and ignoramus when it comes to offense and handling QBs. Both were thrown to the wolves before they were ready to play. I believe that Rex is the one who is to blame for both developing that "afraid to make a mistake" persona. Mornhinweg and Schotty (at Rex's insistence) and Rex as well, probably drilled that into both of their heads. Both may never have developed into quality, consistent QBs, but I think both would have been better off and had better mindsets if they had never had the misfortune of having to play for that jerk Rex.

You're not the only one. Essentially ridiculing people who thought Petty was advancing, and might have a chance to supplant Geno.....

If their curves leveled off tomorrow, Geno will be gone by next year. Truth is Geno has gone down

    Wait.

The tweets from OTA's by Dipshit Mehta said Geno was better!
