The perception of this team outside this fanbase means nothing to me. Tannehill or Taylor I could care less because they are actually average

Fair enough, but if there's no solid improvement, then no one will take him serious and that will come back to haunt him. Hopefully it works out

Raw deal he started two seasons in te
If there is no improvement who cares. Petty should make a big leap this year and be expected to.

How do you make a big leap and not show improvement?

    100%.

As much as I like Petty, if he hasn't taken big strides, he could be at serious risk.

I think that message was sent with the Hackenberg draft pick.

Noticed after Petty threw TD. 3qb's talking (Fitz,Petty, and Hack.) no Geno. He is not mature enough to lead any team. I really was hoping for a better showing from Geno. I really think he will be the odd man out. JMO

Petty should be#2 after tonight (all thing considered)

    Enough with the Geno apologists

be-careful because I have been saying this for 6 months now and have been accused of being a hater all the time pointing out things like stats and people that know him but I was wrong. I hate being right about how bad Geno is. How can you throw the ball into triple coverage. How have you not learned after starting 30 games in the nfl. He should have been cut after last yr when he was punched he should not survive these bad performances against the other teams 2. if he was so good he would be performing against those 2s instead of throwing into triple coverage
meanwhile Petty is doing what he should be doing performing against the 3rd teamers with third teamers and looking decent

This is a reason I wanted Fitz back. He's not the greatest ever but is a team player. It he can teach Petty and Hackenberg some stuff then $12 million for a year was worth it. If he planned to retire after this season I'd have no problems keeping him around as a QB coach. Really a lot of Fitz's problem isn't that he doesn't know what he's doing in some of the throws he tries to make or picks he tosses, really a lot of it falls back on the fact he just doesn't have the arm strength. He never has and never will. Obviously though he'd be an asset to teaching young QBs if he's willing to do it because he played in a variety of different systems without much of a problem adapting to them.

Petty looked good tonight, I mean it is preseason and all, but he looked pretty competent. Working with Fitz could be a good thing. Let's just hope the organization doesn't do something stupid and cut him,

My thoughts are that I wish i could have seen the whole thing. Tried to record it but it was only scheduled for 2 1/2 hours so I ran out at the beginning of the fourth quarter. You'd think CBS would know it takes at least three hours. In the real season, I always record the post-game too in case it runs long but didn't bother even looking because it was pre-season. What did I miss?

SNY is showing it again at 2am
I extended the recording a half hour like I usually do and ended up with the complete game.

I hadn't noticed the discrepency. wtf was that?

Thanks, I've got it set now, I can catch up tomorrow. Who knows what CBS was thinking scheduling only 2 1/2 hours unless Cablevision screwed up the guide. Maybe summer interns ...
