Stop with the "hate" talk already. Just because some people don't want to see him in a Jets uniform does not mean they hate him. Virtually none of these guys know him and to have the "intense and passionate dislike" for him would at least require they had some interaction with him. Next thing you'll be claiming he's being bullied. Stop whining about it!
Never hated Geno. In fact was happy when we drafted him. Whatever the causes he just hasn't shown me anything to suggest he should be over Petty (other than game time experience). When he comes into a game I am hoping he shines to prove me wrong and all he does is to conintually tease me and than revert to back to Geno. We are screwed if Fitz goes down (no matter who the back up is). In the end I think it will be bye-bye Geno. Either way I will place my trust in Bowles. Good luck to Geno and Petty.
Might not be saying much but Geno's the best quarterback drafted out of his draft class of 4 years ago & was very solid during his 1st preseason game vs. Jacksonville. Geno started off 2-6 with only 9 passing yards. For the fans out there saying how Geno struggled, had a bad outing and/or Petty closed the gap are pretty clueless. Because... Geno Smit quickly shook off the rust while ignoring the boo-birds and got hot/settled in going 6/7 for 70 yards including 1 TD/0 INT's/0 sacks (the rest of the way) and also finished with an overall QB Rating of 97.0. He also showed signs of maturity. His back shoulder pass to a rookie in Peake on 3rd down was an absolutely beautiful thrown ball. On a botched snap instead of trying to force a play simply slid to the ground and lived for another down. Also threw the ball into the back of a teammates leg as a way of throwing the ball away, rather than trying to create something out of nothing during a broken play. Only 4 drives but accounted for 10 of our 17 points (2 scoring drives). Would be nice to see Geno pick up where he left off against Jacksonville and put up another solid/sound outing on the road @ Washington tonight.
Did you live under high tension wires in your formative years? 1 screen pass accounted for 55 yards. He was playing against the twos. He had no command of the offense, still stared down receivers, and took sacks instead of throwing the ball away.
Yes. He was playing against Jacksonville's two's. But on the flipside he was also playing with our two's. And what are you talking about? You're making up lies is what you're doing. Gene was "taking sacks"? You're wrong. Fitzpatrick was sacked 1x. Petty took two (2) sacks. But Geno Smith took zero (0) sacks. So what were you referring to when mentioning (lying) how Geno "took sacks instead of throwing the ball away", You do know that Geno wasn't sacked a single time, right? And which screen pass are you referring to that "accounted for 55 yards"? Once again, you're wrong because the last time I checked Geno had completions of 8 yards to Peake, 1 yard to Peake, 17 yard TD throw to Peake, 13 yards to Ross, 10 yards to Jalin Marshall, 18 yards to Ross, 3 yards to Morris and another 9 yards to J.Howsare. That accounts for all 79 of Geno's passing yards but yet, there was no fake, make believe "screen pass" that "accounted for 55 yards". lol. It doesn't sound like you watched the game at all. You didn't watch the game, did you? It's either A.) You didn't watch the game or B.) Just making up lies. And yes. He did have command of the offense with two scoring drives (during only 4 series of play).
Geno threw 3 interceptions and fumbled twice. Explain that. I hope for us, he has things figured out. I'd really like the team to focus on Oline in the upcoming drafts, not another QB in the first 2 rounds.

Well it was his last actual NFL start. Your "years ago" comment is carefully worded to make it sound much more distant than it really was, the Jets have only played 16 games since that performance. In reality he actually played fairly well for the last 4 games that season after being benched for the Buffalo debacle, not just 1 random isolated game.
