The man got me so excited that Tanny pulled the trade to bring him to NYJ that I went to Modell's and bought his jersey that same day haha.

Needless to say that year was possibly a very special one with us going 8-3, beating the Pats in Foxboro in OT too.

We were on our way and then Brett Favre and the Jets management selfishly let him play with a torn tendon in his arm. That bugged that crap out of me. He was throwing INTs one after the other.

It was a exciting few months and then it felt apart so fast. Just like Mark Sanchez rise and demise.

We got RKO'd outta nowhere (my WWE reference)...And missed the freaking playoffs due to my dude Chad Pennington and his filthy Dolphins :(

    Fucking Brett Favre.

I liked him. He got hurt. Who knows what could have been that season if his arm didn't figuratively fall off...

    Favorite Favre memories:

Curb stomping the Cards (NFC SB reps that year)

    Curb stomping NE

Curb stomping the previously undefeated 10-0 Titans

Just our luck that the most durable QB in history gets fuckin hurt when he's on the Jets. Fuck.

I think if his arm isn't torn we get into the playoffs but still probably one and done.

I drove down to San Diego for a MNF game against the Jets.

It seemed surreal seeing Farve in a Jets uni.
    Of ourse we lost.

But Farve at least made a game of it.

He did a fantastic job on the Jets.

Just should have been an easy playoff year. Too bad they refused to not play him and screwed us. It was super obvious that he was hurting and his level of play was awful as a result.

In Tennessee. I thought we had a legit shot at a good run thereafter.....That was a good team at that time

I still get pissed at him laying down for Strahan to get the sack record. That was a bullshit move. Even his OLinemen took exception. The fact that Strahan moved ahead of Gastineau made it even worse

    Plus a zillion. It's Gastineau's record.

I still remember Strahan being interviewed byPam Oliver (I think) on the field after the game. To his credit, when she asked him about the record, he basically rolled his eyes.

Yea that Strahan stunt was BS. Why does the NFL acknowledge that as a sack? Favre took a knee before being touched. No way should that sack be credited to Strahan

Definitely gave himself up ("fell down"), but didn't take a knee.

Sent some girl a pic of his dick...

That was the most newsworthy as a Jet

    Otherwise a useless pick up

yup and that must have been about the time Favre tore his arm off. We didn't win too many games after that one.

Yeah this would be true although to a degree he was a fish out of water in the Schotty system and was a lot more effective running his old system in Minnesota. I don't think he puts up the same monster year here he did in '09 though he certainly would have been a plus over Sanchez (and maybe helped him develop properly).

I actually liked him a lot more before and after he was a Jet than when he actually was a Jet, then again it didn't help he replaced Pennington who I have an eternal blind spot for.

Great player, great start, then he obviously tried to play through an injury that destroyed his effectiveness, and started sending girls unsolicited pictures of his junk.

Enough time has passed to not completely hate him, but he ruined that season by staying on the field. All for his starts record. Unacceptable. Definitely had some great moments. All listed in the thread already. I can't get that Seahawks game out of my mind though. One of the worst performances I have ever seen. Fans wanted Chad gone. What did he do? Took a 1-15 Dolphins team to 11-5 and an AFC East Title. 2008 was as typical of a season as any Jets fan could expect though. :)
