NT might not needed to be addressed until the later rounds. He looks great in some plays and looks ok in other but then in some he looks terrible but not as often any more. He is getting better better each week (excluding the browns game.) He hasnt looked as bad and is starting to show promise. But the Reason why are defense is hurt so much is because we have a RE that doesnt do sh it. that is the reason why we are sucking all because Kimo. HE SUCKS HE CANT RUSH THE PASSER CANT STOP THE RUN THIS GUY IS USELESS. After this years off-season and we draft a RE in the 1-3 rounds or sign a vetern in the free agency or we trade for one we will be set to go and D-Rob would do much better at NT. He is not that bad he is Doing pretty damn go with 1 other guy on the line and that is Ellis. It is like Ellis and D-ROB are being blocked by 5 OL. They could not even block Kimo and he still would stand there and do nothing. it is not D-ROBS fault so stop bashing him! He is progressing and getting better each week.

I guess we'll have to put up with topics like this until the Jets finally dump this waste of space for good, or his knee disintegrates. I'm hoping for the former.

looks like D rob lost his NT job.. and took kimo's job..so mangini is giving him chances to succeed.

maybe its better to see moore in there for a few snaps just so the other guys in here can see how horrible he is and stop whining around already. "waaahhh why isnt he starting for us he is so great and robertson sucks waaahhh!!!"

Robertson would be fine as a rotating piece of the puzzle if he was a late round pick with a low cap number (like Moore). Unfortunately, we gave up a kings ransom for him and he has about a 9 million dollar cap hit this year. You need superstar production from somebody like that. A superstar he definitely is not...

has CJ mosely been active at all yet? I was hoping he could play 15 -20 snaps at NT a game when we trades bolly for him. Hasnt happened. If they activate him and split the NT duty between Moore and Mosely and play D rob at end, that is a lot of bulk and a look I want to see before we go investing all our picks next year in DL.

The guy was a top DT in the league 2 years ago, he struggled last year w/ some injuries and he struggled early this year adjusting to a role he's not fit for but he's getting better. Jet fans need a scapegoat and w/ Herm gone they have focused their attention on Robertson but the reality is he's a good player when most seem to think he's terrible.

I'm not using him as a scapegoat and I never said he was terrible. He is very serviceable, but he is not worthy of being the highest paid D interior linemen in the game though. Is it his fault? No, but with the money comes the criticism....

I didn't say you specifically but it's most jet fans. There's always a player they need to bash even though they have done good things for us like Dewayne, McCareins and JP machado. I remember JP machado getting tons of crap and this guy was just a backup forced into action and he played pretty well for us considering.

he doesn't put up enough stats for you, that's how you evaluate players. I see what he's done and how he's amde us better. Watch tapes from '04 and you'll see what I mean. last year he wasn't good and this year he's playing out of position but that's not his fault and he's been playing well lately and getting better every week.

Culpepper has has great seasons there is no denying that. Obviously you have to use stats as a guide for players you rarely get to actually watch play. I hardly ever look at stats for Jets players because I watch them every week.

Is it the 30th ranked rush defense that's convinced you? Or, perhaps the 22nd ranking in passing yards against?

Good is relative. We should expect a higher grade of good for this player, whether he's playing nose tackle or place kicking.

No he hasn't had great seasons, he's had great statistical seasons but that doesn't make a season great. His "great" 2004 he led Minny to 8 wins in a terrible division and conference. he never performs in big games.

I don't blame him b/c the CS is playing him out of position and running the wrong system.

The Excuse Factory is open for bid'ness. I get your point. But, he's NOT out of position, because he's in the position assigned to him by the coaching staff. It's his job, in that position, to apply his "top-level skills" to be great.

We smartass fans are assuming that his body type, speed, and strength suit him better as a 3-4 end. How the hell do WE know? Have we ever seen him in that position? Do Eric Mangini and Bob Sutton know more about football than you or I?

The fairer assumption is that the coaching staff put him in the position for this defense that suits him best. Otherwise, they would be purposely setting themselves up for defeat, and that would be illogical, captain.

2 years ago he was a key to our top 5 defense. 2 yars ago playing a 4-3 w/ basically the same talent we have today we were a top 5 D while now we are a bottom 5 D.
