Blair Thomas. He will be looked at as an all time bust but I'll always maintain he could've been good if circumstances were different. He wasn't a POS bust like Gholston as it wasn't for a lack of effort and he did show flashes.
Thomas and Gholston were the same. Not good at football. Not athletic enough. No burst. Way too slow to change direction. Gholston tried as hard as anyone. He was just terrible. Thomas was the same. He occasionally "flashed" because he had the ball in his hands so the fast players had to come to him.
Thomas had a good career at PSU and was a top rated back for many pro teams. Jets had pick 2 in 1990; coslet and Steinbergs first draft. Thomas was a bit of a quiet guy and wasn't that popular amongst some teammates. He definitely coasted thru his rookie year, averaging 5 yds/carry. The next year I recall him coasting thru training camp, not lifting much with the guys and keeping with only a small crowd of players. It was like football wasn't his main focus. Occasionally his posse would interact with mine down in long beach/island park/Freeport and we toasted a few cold ones. He would bitch about coslet who wanted to throw the ball more which went against what Steinberg wanted, especially after drafting him #2. after the chicago bear game it griinded downhill from there and the negativity spread and that was it. Another high jet pick with essentially no return.
Blair Thomas bitching about Coslett wanting to pass is like Matthew Dellavedova bitching about Lebron hogging the ball .
Double exclamation point!! Sometimes people say that Aaron Glenn was overrated. It doesn't make them gay. They were already gay. Which is totally fine.
Bottom pic is priceless. Cool pants, Cadrez. And Baxter and Brian Washington? Does the front say Hit, Run & Pass? Were they a bowling team?
