Haven't heard much from Deon Simon, good thing the Jets picked this guy up for the fraction of the price. To think the Jets would pay 10M for a 2 down lineman.
This wouldn't surprise me, but I don't see how you can get a good read on this based on some practice in shorts.
Just being realistic I won't lose my pants until they make plays in game action ... I don't get excited over those stupid YouTube highlight videos neither
Marshall threw a punch at Revis in practice. Sounds like these guys are hitting that wall and are ready for Jacksonville at this point.
supposedly marshall yelled at revis "i used to respect you!" and then proceeded to go 0/4 against him
It wasn't a punch... it sounds like it was more of a stiff arm swing at Revis' pads. Revis hung on Marshall for an incompletion, Marshall got mad, started talking trash about how Revis got burnt by Hopkins last year, escalated from there. How you know it's not a big deal? Here:
I wish I knew the whole story here, and we're never going to hear it. I'm not saying it's a serious issue, but at the same time, it's not really a jokey, impulsive thing to say. It's the kind of thing you say when resentment has been simmering. Weird.
Fitzpatrick jumped in and broke up the fight... YOU ALL JUST KNOW...If Geno stepped in, he would have been knocked out by Marshall. After Marshall beat Revis for a reception in team drills, the two players jawed on the sideline. Things turned ugly when Marshall took a swing at the cornerback and hit him on the shoulder Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick broke up the skirmish, while wideout Quincy Enuwna carried Marshall off the field.
I have no problems with my #1 WR & #1 CB refusing to back down from one another. This is training camp 101; a feeding ground that breeds heated competition and at times heated battles. I'd much rather Marshall and Revis go at it rather than a Marshall vs. Decker, Marshall vs. Fitzpatrick and/or Revis vs. Pryor, Revis vs. Wilkerson etc. They can dislike & hate one another all they like but come gamedays they'll always be on the other side of the ball & never on the same playing field together. Hopefully Revis uses Marshall's words/disrespect of getting beat by Hopkins as extra motivation heading into this up coming season. Who knows, maybe Marshall is trying to push Revis to his max in order to get Revis fired up for the season but at the end of the day I believe this was just a heated one on one battle with heated words being exchanged from two competitive competitors. Tonight they might even go out to a restaurant for a bite to eat together & put this behind them as friends and teammates moving forward.
Marshall has already said they are both still pissed off, but are great friends and it's over with. Just odd that two seasoned vets got into it, as opposed to Revis vs a rookie WR or Marshall vs a rookie CB.
Revis & Marshall, these guys are warrior like competitors with lots of pride. Boys become men on the football field & at the end of the day they've been competing and going at it with one another for years now. They're used to eachother and know one another's strengths and weaknesses better than anyone. I personally love the fact how during training camp we have our number one WR and number one CB going at.
