Say what you want about the reporters but they gave Geno Smith a chance to smooth it over and tell his story and he fucked it up. After he gets a little testy at the end they ask "how did you grow last year from watching..." Geno cuts him off "anyone else got a question" that's a question you answer. It wasn't unfair or anything, in fact its favorable to his story. It's a layup question. You give the soundbyte how you learned & matured a lot, it was tough and humbling, but allowed you to focus on improving your game. or something. Don't be a prick and that might be the story the next day. If I were him I'd also play off the fitzpatrick signing as just another QB competing for the job in that room. But Geno is an idiot. Ultimately its how you perform on the field and not with the press but his lack of maturity has hurt him on the field and stuff like this makes you question if he's ever going to get it
And save no money on the cap while taking a significant cap hit for a punter that probably wouldn't have made it past the first round of cuts?!
Does anyone have worse opinions? Milliner has been having a solid offseason and camp so far. Do you just not like anyone who doesn't play offense?
And that's just today. He's not a bad player. Acting like he's bad is just dumb. He can't stay healthy, there's a big difference.
We didn't draft Hackett, and neither did anyone else. I don't believe he's been picked up yet, and it's safe to assume we had a really good look at him and Edwards since the draft.
So your argument about Idzik is Enunwa?Any GM with cap space and brain cells could sign an Eric Decker.Idzik was fired after 2 years in case you forgot what a disaster he was.Enunwa isnt a franchise WR he is a solid 3 or 4 a better version of Kerley.John Idzik was a joke and a major reach and I said that the day we brought him in.
So you still think Geno is a franchise QB?Geno should be happy just being a backup ......Sometimes you just are what you are .Should a low level carpenter think he can one day be president of the USA?No he shouldnt because he wont....same applys for Geno who needs to accept his role and 1million plus salary as a 2nd or 3rd option.Hes a never was.....and never will be.
If you liked the Jets offseason last year, thank Idzik. He's the reason we were able to do what we did.
That was not stupid. Milliner: a former top 10 pick who plays CB, is still only 24 years old and who the jury's still out on. Hackett: a 24 year old undersized UDFA directional punter with so-so leg strength NFL-wise (read: northeast winds in Dec.). Todd Bowles: "The first thing I look at when we get the schedule is who we are playing in the cold and [in] December. The December games are pretty good."
Pretty much. He took the Jacksonville Jaguars approach to tearing the entire franchise down only to build it back up. Problem was he wasn't ready to draft like the team needed him to because he's not a quality talent evaluator of college players or at least hadn't developed into one yet. That approach in the biggest media market in the world will get you fired via fan financed billboards. Regardless of that the whole fire Idzik movement is an embarrassing moment for the franchise IMO. Woody was obviously aware of Idzik's plans, which is why he should've been prepared to weather that type of storm from fans. But he's weak-minded. In any case I'm happy with Maccagnan thus far. We need these past two drafts to sustain itself with defensive stars on their rookie contracts while we rebuild the offense the next two years.
I give Idzik credit for Ivory, Decker and trading Revis. However, he was an awful at the draft. Idzik's contributions to the team pretty much ended last season. We cut so many of his draft picks.
Here's another for you in case you still think your idea was logical: http://nypost.com/2016/07/30/dee-milliners-show-me-year-off-to-head-turning-fast-start/
