Yep, even though the schedule was "soft" last year, the Jets beat some good teams and had as much a chance as any to make a deep playoff run. The defense will keep them in most games, so many games will come down to which team executes in the clutch. If they can hang with NE, they can definitely hang with the Bengals, Steelers, Chiefs, Colts, Cards or Seahawks. Special teams cost the Jets multiple games last year and that should be much improved now, plus Fitz won't have to play one handed. Bowles has a full season of experience behind him now and should not make the same mistakes as last year. The Jets also have fast linebackers now. Looks good on paper, but paper doesn't always indicate reality.
I can't say that I am against the signing but from the looks of it next year he won't be on the roster neither will GeNo and as it stands now we will be minus on the cap at 166 million ... guess we can cut Breno and or trade Sheldon if he performs well and stays out of trouble we might be able to net a second rounder for him ...
Oh my god dude, you're a fucking genius. I'm at awe right now reading you. Why haven't you been contacted by a NFL football team to be their GM? Seriously, you're a 100% right, I'm really shocked at the fact that you don't work at a NFL FO, you should be, you'd be winning every SB.
Question for everyone that is patting our front office on the back for overpaying Mo and Fitz. What are we going to do differently to avoid getting swept by the Bills yet again this year?
We didn't lose to Buffalo on talent. We lost on coaching and execution. They had good game plans, played well, and didn't make many mistakes. We did the opposite.
Todd Bowles has a year under his belt and shouldn't make as many mistakes. Plus if our ST revamp pans out, it will be a huge weakness eliminated. Also it's year #2 in Gailey's system, the offense should have a better grasp on it this year, plus Forte adds another receiving threat. I think Jace Amaro will be the X factor this year. Last year that position was very depleted and it hurt our offense more than once. I'm sure you all remember that Kellen Davis touchdown that should have been. I'm looking for Amaro to turn around that position if he can stay healthy and build upon his knowledge of the system.
Mr Hasty your lips to God's ears ! I like Bowles a lot but the honeymoon is over,,zero excuse for how the team came out flat with so much on the line against Buffalo ! That falls squarely on the coach and to say it was a letdown after beating NE the week before again with so much at stake makes me ill,,,,free passes are over,,win games period
Not spotting them a TD on specials is a start. Revis with a healthy wrist being able to jam WRs at the line will help too
I bought notebooks and pencils for a charity today. Start there. But hey, when my purchases cost $12m of cash and ruins your day, feel free.
And we hopefully wont be giving them ridiculous field position every drive with Quigleys limp dick leg
