Well, here we start getting into definitions again. Kind of like the Pokemon thread where somebody said he "worked his ass off" to get some pretzels or something.
Sure, I'm sure they both helped, but most sacks in the NFL can be avoided by getting the ball out early and understanding where the blitz is coming from. Listen, if Gailey can turn Geno from the worst pre-snap QB in the NFL to something half-way decent, then he deserves all coach of the year awards. I'd much rather go with a QB who I know can put us in a position to win, then a QB who has been a complete train wreck since the moment that he got here. Drafting Geno was a big mistake and it turns out that there were huge reasons why he dropped so far (answering phone calls while interviewing with teams).
"Wasting a pretty good roster..." is what the ESPN NFL Insiders just had to say is the Jets pitfall if they don't get Fitzpatrick signed. No talk of Smith or anyone else being in a position to keep that from happening. Simply getting some things done in camp won't be good enough, someone would need to really "light it up" for the Jets to forget about Fitzpatrick.
not only are you correct, but the fitz crowd ignores the fact that the front office and coaching staff had geno as the starter before the ik incident forced the backup into starting. no way aa jorneyman, hold the fort qb, with little upside should get starter money. 10 wins with a weak schedule, and a bomb performance in a win-and-you-are -in game merits triple money.
Here here. This standstill has been frustrating to deal with as a fan. I think Fitz is overdoing his standoff, however, he doesn't hurt the team if he is re-signed.
"Brandon Marshall, Ryan Fitzpatrick meet in Chicago Brandon Marshall might have slept a little easier last night. The wide receiver, scared to his core last week by his suddenly radio silent free-agent quarterback, reconnected lines of communication with his "guy" Monday night. Marshall's smile seems to be one of relief, but doesn't indicate that Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to sign any time soon. The longing for reunion is evident in Marshall's eyes. It's like Player's "Baby Come Back" is on constant loop inside his head." http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...don-marshall-ryan-fitzpatrick-meet-in-chicago
Well maybe that was a bit of hyperbole, but I think he'd have to have numbers akin to that to shut some of them up with their "We already know he sucks comments."
Fitz has zero upside at this stage of his career. There are certainly younger QBs in the NFL who have upside. Since you seem to be blissfully unaware of any younger vet QBs in the NFL who still have some upside, then I'd say that yes, you have missed something.
He's taking valuable money away from the salary cap and it wouldn't get us any closer to a Super Bowl. So yea, that'd hurt.
You certainly wouldn't have been the first fan to dismiss a QB as stupid because of his skin color, nor the last. You can forgive me or not for questioning you, but I didn't accuse you. Trump is a racist and with you sporting an image of him on your posts, it was a fair question/concern. I said you sounded suspiciously like a racist. I didn't call you one. I take you at your word. I'm glad that you're not. I still say it is asinine to totally dismiss a young QB after 2 years when he wasn't ready to play to begin with, and was forced onto the field and to play under and for a dumbass excuse for a HC and OC. Hopefully, we'll get the opportunity to see just how stupid is this season. If he winds up starting and plays well, I hope that you will be man enough to admit that you were wrong.
It was a totally fair question to anyone with half a brain and can comprehend what they read. Trump is an obvious and blatant racist. Since gecko seems to support him, combined with the comments about Geno being stupid and definitely not the answer, it was a fair question. I didn't call him a racist. I said that he "sounded suspiciously like one." He said he's not and I accept him at his word. I'm glad he's not.
You can deny it all you want, but there is still a LOT of racism in our society as evidenced by the police treatment of blacks and the policemen being shot. Trump is a blatant racist. Many people are in denial about being racist. Their racism is more subtle, less pronounced or intentional, but it's there.
Trump is not a racist, he just doesn't want a billion more immigrants let into this country to take the rest of the jobs Americans currently have..that is hardly being a racist. Maybe a nationalist but hardly a racist.
Who said there was no racism in our society? What police treatment of blacks is racist? What specifically has Trump done that is racist?
Meh, nobody saw the Wilk deal coming either. No leaks from the new NYJ FO. I'm a fan with how tight a ship Mac runs.
