no doubt, but who is IK? he's a nobody, you would expect that from a scrub. You would not, however, expect that from a starting quarterback because obviously Geno Smith is not a starting quarterback

Agreed. I don't know what you were responding to though. Sounds like we are on the same page with Geno.
Yeah, I understand. I understand fans wanting Geno to get one more chance with this current regime too. Especially the fans who think "This is not a Super Bowl team, so let's see what we have with Geno, rather than going (10-6) and getting bounced out of the playoffs with Fitz." I understand that way of thinking.

Except that we already know what we have with Geno - hot garbage

Physical skills can only get you so far when you have no decision making abilities, no leadership skills, and a total lack of respect from your teammates

:D You don't have to tell me. I was just stating I understand that view. It's not mine. My view is to win as many games as possible and I think Fitzpatrick gives the Jets the best chance to do that in 2016. Hopefully that won't be the case in 2017 and Hackenberg can take the reigns, but time will tell.

And a combination of decision making abilities, leadership skills and the full respect of your teammates can only take you so far when you can't throw a rope further than 15 yards, as we've seen Fitz's entire professional career.

Face it, our only options this year at QB are a couple of never-has-beens who never-will-be.

Mark Fucking Sanchez won 4 road playoff games. Fitz has never seen a postseason that he wasn't on the bench.

Which is why using playoff wins to evaluate QBs is futile.

The team around Geno last year was also a LOT better than 2014.

Yes, there are so many clutch quarterbacks with tons of potential that have spent a decade in the league and never even APPEARED in a playoff game, much less winning one.

Do you even realize how much you're reaching for him?

What arguments can you possibly make? No weapons? No defense? What arguments?

I said that using playoff wins to evaluate QBs is futile. And you bringing up Mark Sanchez is a great example why. Nothing more to see there.

Wow haven't visited this thread in a while, looks like many have turned on Fitzpatrick. That's really surprising to me. I personally think he'll start week one for us. And I'll be relieved as fuck.

and then after 1-0 they'll be like "I told you we should sign this guy, Fitz is money" and then after 1-1 they'll be like "This guy is horseshit, I said all along he wasn't worth the contract", etc etc

You forgot the never-ending excuses, such as no running game , offensive line sucks , offensive coordinator sucks, no TE

Jet Fans are either at your feet or at your throat haha same ole story

Yeah so lets just start from scratch with GeNo Smith and waste all the talent we have assembled on offense and defense..all of Macs work drafting key players and free agents like Clady and Forte. This over a few million dollars more to the bearded one But no we are just too curious to find out how GeNo does after learning so much from the CS ...pathetic

Sign RF to a one year with 12 mill guaranteed He is on record to play for that. If we make the playoffs his market value goes way up and the FO risks little vs the cap. This isn't a 100 mill deal were dicking around with

Fitz is Steve DeBerg. But even Deberg got his ass to the playoffs a couple times

You can't even being yourself to address the fact that FITZ has never appeared in a playoff GAME.

    How sad is that?

You're so short-sighted and dense that you don't even realize Fitz or Geno...Geno or Fitz we're still the same team basically. Start from scratch?? Waste all of our talent?? huh??

It's one bottom of the barrel starter to another....each with different strengths and weaknesses

One is a great leader but can't throw the ball 20 yards....One can throw the ball a mile and isn't a good leader

Net result most likely very similar

Every time the Jets allowed 20 points or more we lost last season except once....Every time Fitz started for his team in his whole career he was never able to lead his team to a playoff berth

Excuse me if I'm not all gung-ho about shelling out 10+ mill for that when we can get a similar result for 1 mill

I know Fitz and his nice beard make some of you feel so secure...but get a grip guys. He blows, always has and always will. It's literally nothing to go from one shit QB to another

Question: Is Fitzpatrick the worst player in NFL history to have a holdout/contract stalemate go this long? Usually see it with the stars. This is past ridiculous.

Get this guy in before camp please!!! And that goes for the jets front office and Fitzpatrick himself. This has gone on long enough come to an agreement before camp please or the circus continues from the past regime.
