If he gets 2 sacks this year, it will be great because that is 2 more than I am expecting. I do however think he has a great shot at making the ST's .

I see where his speed to sign his rookie contract is a bit slow. His momma quit her job as a tv anchor to be her son's manager. Momma want's more money. She shouldn't have quit her day job.

Im wondering how effective he will be as a blitzer being that he may be smaller than a few qb's.

Lee will be ok, light for playing the middle but he will only be used in situations anyway.

every 1st rounder has signed except Bosa at #3, and the random lineman the Niners took late in the 1st round and our boy Lee. WTF. get this man a pen.

    Indy's Kelly (pick 18) signed a 4 year/$10.4M deal / / Houston's Fuller (pick 21) signed a 4 year $10.2M deal. .. . I'm no arbiter but it seems like a 4 year, $10.3M deal for the number 20 pick sounds about right.

The only upside I see to this is that Lee didn't get nicked up or injured during OTAs. There has been a "curse" of rookie injuries during OTAs with some of those players not having deals signed. The Jets couldn't come to term with Lee right away so they allocated their time and effort on Wilkerson and Fitzpatrick. They have the money to sign him now I am sure they already allocated that cap space to Lee. As long as he is there day 1 training camp, it's a win.

unless they have spent plenty enough time and effort on Lee and Lee's playing hardball over the proposal before he's even played an NFL down

It's a fair reason on his part, Jets are trying to make the 4th year unguaranteed and leave out $600,000. Longevity in the NFL after all is the lowest out of all professional sports.

Darron Lee's speed in Madden is 92. Not a huge fan of Madden, but damn that's a perfect video game linebacker

I mean that seems rather frustrating on the agents side. I hope Maccagnan doesn't become known as a GM that's difficult to work with. There's a difference between quality negotiating skills and being flat out stubborn.. $600k to get the raw first round rookie without a true position into camp seems like we need to give in

Agreed. I thought the same thing when i read it. Plus its rare that 1st rounders get cut before year 4 so this whole thing seems silly.
