We're indefinite years away until we find a good franchise QB. Hopefully that's one of the young guys on the roster, but can't bank on that until they actually show something.
In which round was Favre selected? Also if i recall properly Atlanta didnt think he was a good qb. We may already have a Pro Bowler or HOFer.
This is why I wanted Lynch at 20. He's got the raw talent - I think Kubiak and his staff will make him a franchise QB. The path is steeper for Hackenberg, who might already be shell shocked and hasn't proven he can accurately throw, the most important QB trait.
We may be a couple years from the playoffs much less the SB...how anybody can even think we are 1-3 years from a SB when we haven't been to one in almost 50 years is just comical.

This is true but we flat out got beat. Honestly, what was more crushing was the Fitzpatrick pick in the endzone. I'm a fan of Fitzpatrick but if there was one thing that lost it for us it is that. But, the reality is, we got beat all game.
Hard to call him Fitzgarbage after he broke franchise records but yes I admitted that in my most recent post. That pick in the endzone. I was there damnit and Ill never live it down!
We gifted them a touchdown with that punt. If Enunwa doesn't drop a pass where he walks into the end zone, Fitzpatrick's pick may never happen. Not to mention it's not like it was the last play of the game. Don't forget the dime he threw to Kembrell Thompkins that was dropped on a hail mary. Not to mention we gave them several first downs on the same fucking stop route to Sammy Watkins against Revis down the stretch of the game without the player or coaching staff making adjustments to it. That let them move the ball at will. If you think that sole pass lost us the game, you must not have watched the entire game or at leat not have watched it closely. One pass doesn't make or break a season or playoff birth.
There only one way to find out if we are anywhere near a Superbowl. And that is if our draft record improves. But that isn't something this franchise has done historically well. You need a good QB, good coaching staff and some luck..... but a series of good drafts is the real test. That'll be Macc's legacy.... can he hit on enough picks that become quality starters on an aging roster? I sure hope so.
Absolutely right except I would say you need a very good QB. How many teams go the SB without having a franchise QB? We had the best defense in the league and a top three for a few other years under Rex, no SB. We had a great OL and great RBs, no SB. What we haven't had since Namath (or Favre for one year, maybe O'Brien too) is a great QB. We won't be going to a SB until we do and that isn't Fitz or Geno.
I disagree that is the most important QB trait. For me, it's the ability to read Ds. If he can't read the D, it doesn't matter how accurate or inaccurate his arm is. Having an accurate arm is one of the most important traits, but not THE most important imo. There can be different reasons why a QB is inaccurate. Some of those things can be fixed, while others probably can't. With Hack, we have to hope that his inaccuracy can be fixed whether it's fundamentals/technique/footwork or psychological.
Dude is not only buried on the depth chart, they are thinking about starting a QB named Trevor Siemian, do you know who that is? Cause I don't. I think Hack has more upside and better football IQ. Lynch has the athleticism, but that's about it. Brains > Athleticism all day
No doubt you have to take that into consideration as well because he's raw, but c'mon Trevor Siemian? I think we made the right choice with Hack because of his football IQ. Should he progress, he will become a starter much quicker IMO.
I was there in person, the ball Thompkins dropped happened right in front of me. You are right though, the blame can't be placed on any one person. I'm still hung up on that game, I can't get over it. I'm not saying we were superbowl bound but it was SO disappointing walking out of that stadium with a loss. The place would have been electric with Jets fans afterwards and would have been a huge party. I still had a great time taking the trip up there, but I can only dream what it would have been like with a win. Just more Jets disappointment to hang on my shelf.
Im 54 and been following the Jets since I was 11, Tell me something I don't know about bad games on the shelf. Surprised mine has not broken
