Has a single picture been posted of any of the Dallas suspects? And no, the tard walking around with the unloaded AR doesn't count.
This is such a flawed and misleading statement, for a number of reasons. First, if you want to make that point, the term "minorities" isn't correct. The issue is with African American minorities, and it's a significant point because some minority groups seem not to be involved in these incidents at all. Also, "disproportionately" is a matter of perspective. There are certainly far more white people killed by police, but what we're really talking about are unprovoked or unjustified killing by police of African Americans. Whether it's disproportionate or not is a matter of statistical perspective. But we're also not talking about ALL African Americans, because I've yet to hear of a single incident involving an African American woman. So it can't Be JUST about race. There must be more to it. For my part, I do think that some cops are overly militaristic and tightly wired, and that concerns me. I'm also not real keen on law enforcement becoming income generators for local and state government, because it's just another way to put police in conflict with citizens and create more opportunity incidents like these. Who here hasn't been pulled over and had some young cop at your car window, using his bully voice and treating you like you just knocked off a liquor store? And who here doesn't know cops with a reputation for meeting ticket quotas? We should want fewer incidents where police and citizens interact, not more just for the sake of meeting government payroll. But, back to the original point. This isn't an issue for ALL minorities, it's an issue for black minorities. And it isn't an issue for all ALL black minorities, it's an issue just for MALE black minorities. It's intellectually lazy to point out that black men are disproportionately the victims in police killings and also ignore that the family structure and support in African American community is in crisis, caused by a dramatic percentage of black men abandoning their families. It's hilarious that Antonio Cromartie has trouble naming his kids. But it also isn't. So, I agree - black lives matter.
I've seen pictures and video of him taking part in a black panther march yelling oink oink bang bang.
I want pastey-faced, white, Jewish accounting majors to appropriate the dashiki as their required uniform.
Why wasn't he given a more thorough mental evaluation before getting his discharge? We'll never know if this was at some level a result of his combat tour in Afghanistan. PTSD might also take this form and if that's the case, there's gonna be more of these kinds of attacks. Even guys in his unit knew this soldier had real issues even before his discharge.
I think you hit the nail on the head in the end there. Fathers. If I had to pick the biggest problem with all of this regardless of race, it usually involves a fatherless family. And it's tied into class status, not race. Mothers on assistance get much more assistance as a single parent. It seems to be system that entices fatherless homes. Kids see this struggle, the misery , and they grow up seeing no hope. They are then enamored by life styles that offer quick wealth. and the areas where this is most prevalent... They keep voting democrat
As more of the story comes out, allegedly Castile did have and display a gun. I'm not saying it justifies being shot and killed, just adding to the story. "Jeronimo Yanez, the police officer who killed a black driver during a suburban Minnesota traffic stop this week, reacted to the man's gun — not his race — his attorney said Saturday. St. Anthony Police Officer Yanez was reacting to "the presence of that gun and the display of that gun" when he opened fire on and killed Philando Castile, Minneapolis attorney Thomas Kelly told the Associated Press in an interview Saturday." http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...-minnesota-cop-reacted-gun-not-race/86894752/
The public should be critical of every police shooting, not condemning until the evidence supports condemnation. The first critical question we must ask is does the mere sight of a gun warrant killing someone?
The piece of shit who sniped the cops is lucky they blew him up. It would have been better to put him through the Texas death row system but I understand why they did it. Still interesting though how they did it. I'd love to see the dashcam video of the bot blowing this fucker straight to hell. Also the cop who shot the innocent black guy is on administrative leave. With full pay and benefits. Why? Even if it was an honest mistake you should not enjoy those kind of benefits for those kinds of mistakes. Take away his paycheck and make him go bag groceries at Market Basket.
Of course not, there are many variables to every situation and in this case the public knows very little despite the video of the aftermath. I posted a photo earlier that appears to show the gun on his lap, not holstered or anything. That is an important detail if it's true. Why was it just sitting on his lap? Was he holding it and dropped it when shot? If not, why the fuck was it on his lap unholstered? Something is off there.
The guy also shouldn't be punished for following protocol or defending himself. We do not know what happened.
the cop is entitled to due process before pubishment. The only side of any of this we have heard is the street justice side.
How does one manage to see what appears to be a gun on his lap? The highlighted area looks nothing like it. And it's safe to say if that was the case the officer would of pointed that out in the video. But all you hear from him is that he told him not to reach, to put his hands up while the victim's girlfriend corrects him two times calm. My American government professor warned me of this. After a incident there comes the rumors and trick plays from balding white men stating their endless opinions on every news channel while everyone in the process gets distracted. Yeah, you're right, everyone is on whitey's side. Fuck do you think you're fooling with this whiney shit?
Like I said before it's a shitty picture and you can't tell. There's something there, could be a gun, don't know. Could be his wallet, could be a cell phone, could be a double sided dong.
