No, I think we have definitely entered "hey guys, go get me a subway sandwich at this comicon while I think about my past failed comic book projects and hope one of my ASOIAF bloggers doesn't show up with a shotgun today!" territory.
It's really feeling like he just wanted to cash in on the show, now that that's an option. Screw finishing the story. It's to the point where I'd need to re-read half the series anyway before starting up with the next book.
I don't have a problem with re-reading the series, it's an amazing read. But unless he's going to change pretty much everything that's happened in the show, what is the point of reading anything?
Almost 6 years since the last book was finished and no updates at all. I guess he's waiting for the show too.
