Now somebody needs to put together some guys to form Voltron East in Cleveland with Lebron. Once that's done they can just skip the regular season and 1st two rounds of the playoffs.

Yeah Malone was old and hurt for the Finals. But they really only had 1 year with that group. Warriors will be favorites for sure but it wouldn't really be crazy if Cleveland beat them.

Yes he was instrumental. He was the catalyst. But he didn't build squat. He talked to other players and they agreed to play for the same team.

For me, it's one big yawwwwn. 95% of the teams and players in the NBA are completely irrelevant.

If I'm a fan of any regular old team, I can dream about my team maybe making the playoffs and losing to the one of the big four! Wow! What drama!

So you want to make a semantic argument about the definition of "build" and how it is used in this context and whether being the person who gets that players to join the same team doesn't constitute building a team?

I'm pleased you think depending on a logical fallacy is a sound argument. Beyond that, being the party that you admit was instrumental in that team being assembled certainly equates to building that team. That exactly what what building a team means in this context. You can't both admit he was instrumental in the players all signing with one team, which certainly is exactly what building the team means, and then dispute he built that team.

I don't think you understand what that term means to even be making a semantic argument of the meanings.

Between this and your nonsensical collusion argument you are batting 0-2 so far with this news.

Well then Steve Curry built a great team for next season, because I'm sure he was instrumental in bringing Durant to GS.

It's you who are making the nonsensical argument. It doesn't matter who called who or how these teams were "built." If you want to give James the GM credit for "building" the Heat, go ahead. What matters is that they were not built by the GMs or through the draft and that there is no competitive balance in the NBA. It's like watching Olympic basketball with a handful of dream teams. It still sucks for the league and fans who root for the names on the front of the jerseys in 28 other cities.

Yep exactly. Much different. LeBron wanted to build a championship team. KD ran to the team with the best regular season ever. I respect LeBron wanting to go to a franchise that will at least try to build around him unlike Cleveland did. KD went to the back to backnowledge Western conference championships and if they don't win the title this year he should be ashamed of himself.

Malone and Gary were not in their primes and Malone suffered injuries throughout that entire season. Thisteam has 4 of the top 15 payers in the league, all in their primes. I don't see how anyone beats this team in the playoffs

So what are the odds that this Warriors team actually gets worse? You can't really get much better than last year. Should they be expected to be undefeated and run the table all the way to the championship? The warriors were a well oiled machine. It will be interesting seeing how Durant fits in and if there won't be any set backs.

They had to trade Bogut and will not be matching the Barnes offer. On paper they look unstoppable, but they seem to lack a solid big man now, granted they will excel with the small ball. They lose a little bit of depth, but the team should easily be the most explosive offensive team in the league by far.

If Durant doesn't opt out, it could be very difficult for them to resign Curry, who is a free agent next year.

I don't blame KD at all, and worse comes to worst, it's a 1 year opt out. This is what tons of players do, they either try to go to the more competitive teams or chase the money. Durant chose to go to a better team. It's funny now because the Thunder is begging Westbrook to sign an extension now to avoid the unthinkable of going from title contender to irrelevant within a 1 year period.

And on a sidenote: Afflalo will make more than Curry this year.

Westbrook to Cleveland next year would be the capper.
