Fittingly, if you search for Taiwan Jones highlights (to see if this guy looks as slow as advertised), you get a video of Raiders RB Taiwan Jones making the entire Jets defense look slow. Amazingly, he doesn't look very fast himself-- his slowness makes the Jets look pathetically slow....

I remember watching Brad Smith return kicks and he just looked SLOW, but he outpaced everyone. Same with RB Robert Smith from the Vikings.

Some players have that long stride that makes them look deceptively slow.

That guy (Raiders, not Jets) is the same way. Extremely long powerful stride. No quickness at all, though.

Don't know why he'd want to. Dude made all sorts of tackles at Michigan State. Plus aren't our MLB's supposed to be nimble and quick?

If i remember correctly the knock on Jones was not his size. It was his lack of lateral quickness and the worry that he would be bad against off-tackle runs due to that lack of speed. He's 255 pounds. If he bulked up he should be playing defensive tackle.

He was thought of to perhaps be a candidate to replace David Harris if he could prove his worth in game action. Tackling machines are great if they can adjust to the speed of the NFL game and aren't making those tackles 4-6 yards down field similar to someone like Paul Worrilow of the Falcons.

Tampa @ jets, preseason from Tokyo. Too baked to look up the year 2004/2006. WR Ono new York Jets, Out of Japan. I thought he should have made team, decent preseason.

Shame he was banned, been reading lots of posts on the forum. He seemed to know his stuff, very typical of us jets fans to lose their cool. The racism was highly unacceptable though I have heard far worse at the stadium.
