Can't wait to see Reyes at the top of this lineup. I was calling for this move a month ago. I'm so tired of watching this team shut down for multiple innings at a time. ENOUGH. Those of you who were opposed to the move will be singing a different tune when we FINALLY have a legit ML offense. When Reyes gets here, watch how our production improves from day one. I also want to state this for the record ... What he did to his wife was a terrible thing, but in my eyes it doesn't make him a terrible person. Human beings get into conflicts. Unfortunately, sometimes those conflicts get very heated and turn violent. Of course he shouldn't have hit her, and I'd say the same thing if he hit a guy or a kid ... But sometimes people snap and bad things happen. There's a HUGE difference between one isolated event, and some guy who comes home every so often and beats up his wife because he's a violent drunk, or because his dinner is cold, or because he's sure she smiled at the mailman that morning. THAT'S an abusive person in an abusive relationship. I can make a very clear distinction between the two, and I have no problem letting him move forward with his life and his career.
The speed element Reyes is going to bring is going to be awesome to see again. Something as simple as the threat of a steal early in a game or being able to score from 1st on a double will be a big improvement. Grandy was put in a tough position 2 years ago with doing something he's never done before , and he's been awesome at leading off. But I think Reyes will be a upgrade there. Now putting Grandy in the 3-5 spot will put him in a much better position too. Hopefully now those solo homers turn into 2 and 3 run shots for him.
Do you believe this guy was supposed to be the replacement for Cespedes? If not for a miracle contract negotiation and the fact that Ces wanted to be here, De Aza would be the replacement for him. Just goes to show you the mindset and financial state of this franchise has not changed.
I could just imagine the shape this team would be in right now if that was the case. Probably behind the Phillies in the standings and I dont think thats unrealistic to say. Supposedly TC chewed him out pretty good after that bonehead play. Once Reyes gets the call up he is probably going to be DFA'd.

I love the fact that Bastardo and deAza combined both make more money than the Mets' entire rotation. Either one of them makes more money than the four guys not named Colon in the rotation.
Bastardo does his job we might win that game. Playing with his head up his ass..... Might be a good idea to pick up an arm or bring one up also. Make Bastardo the mop up/ long guy and see if he likes it....
