It's hilarious to me that the Cavs made a pit stop in Vegas to celebrate last night http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/06/cavaliers-las-vegas
Trashing and leaving the franchise I've loved for 15+ years, is why I dislike the Cavs and LeBron. Dan Gilbert being a scumbag and their crappy fans is why I hate the Cavs. The media hype of Kyrie and Love is why I hate the cas. It's not silly, LeBron is the 2nd greatst player ever probably, but I will never be a fan of his ever again.
Lebron 100% MVP, but what I think JetBlue was referring to is Kyrie as the difference maker. He was the difference being out last year and being in this year in beast mode. No Kyrie = no championship, but even with that, Lebron was twice s valuable as Kyrie since without him they maybe don't even get to the Eastern Finals. Takes a team to win but James is the undisputed MVP Crazy how Curry got exposed, I'd rather have Kyrie than Curry on the Knicks at this point
yeah and ESPN did a good job in not showing the whole stage and a front shot of his daughter. During the entire conference they only showed the corner camera focused only on LeBron.
You'd take either and be happy with it. Over here making choices when you have Jose Calderon as your PG
It makes absolutely no sense that Kerr gave Ezeli so much run in crucial minutes of the game. Start him, okay fine. But for him and Verejao to play a combined 19 minutes in inexcusable after seeing how clearly over matched they were (with Ezeli missing a point blank layup to start the game). That lineup with a big in the game allowed Cleveland to hang around. Let LeBron drive on Iggy to the bucket, send Green to help and let him kick to Love and force him to hit some game 7 3's. The offense is way better with Livingston or Barbosa on the floor than Varejao/Ezeli. Happy for LeBron. He can live out the rest of his career in peace now, as there's very little to criticize him for. It's just a matter of where he finishes on the all-time list. He's not one of only 5 players with 3 Finals MVP's. I would guess he's meddling somewhere in the 3-7 range all-time depending on who you ask. Funny how Curry said he was searching for a 3 against Kevin Love. Amazing how well he defended that too, but Curry hits that in the regular season. Searching for a 3 or scared to get the shit blocked out of his drive to the hoop by LeBron?
Kerr got out-coached big time in the last 4 games. He didn't make any adjustments throughout the series. Kerr deserves a lot of the blame. They should've forced Cleveland to play small ball and let Love or JR beat them. Bogut was sorely missed because of those dirty ass screens and it helped Curry and Klay get open. They should've benched Barnes as well, I can't wait to see who gives him a max deal, he was straight up garbage. Lebron deserved this one, at first I wasn't willing to put him over Kobe, but coming back 3-1 average a triple double against one of the best regular season teams of all time, trumps anything Kobe really did in terms of winning a championship. With Lebron winning, here's my top 10. Kobe and Lebron switched spots. Another title and he passes Magic for sure. Magic did what Lebron did ages ago. 1. Jordan 2. Kareem 3. Russel 4. Magic 5. Wilt 6. Lebron 7. Kobe 8. Duncan 9. Shaq 10. Bird
Fair enough. While they were great players for the hands they were dealt, it's tough for me to even mix Russell and Wilt together with the rest of these players. Wilt's last year in the league there were 17 teams, while Russell's last year saw the NBA yield 14 teams. Maybe it's unwarranted, as they were great, but it seems like its almost unfair to the modern era of players that face a lot more parity in the league. Shaq's an interesting case. His 3peat with the Lakers from 2000-2003 is arguably a top2-3 peak of all-time (and possibly only over matched by Jordan's dominance). He didn't ultimately have the longevity of other players because he seemed lazy and uninterested in staying in shape. Even with thst laziness, he still averaged around 19/9/2/2 in 3 years with the Heat well into his 30s, and only averaged less than 12 points/game his final season in the NBA. Man. What could've been if Kobe didn't force him out of town, and the Malone/Payton debacle in 04. The NBA seems extremely hell bent on spreading out the MVP's. You can make a case for Shaq having a 3peat of MVP's, just like Kobe grabbing a couple the years Steve Nash won, and making the top 10 a lot more interesting.
They had to do something Vilma. Without Bogut they simply couldn't stop Lebron taking it right up the middle, through the teeth of their defense. Ezeli and Varejao was all they had left to put in the middle. livington or barbosa out there with only igodala to stop Lebron was a big mismatch, defensively. ezeli and varejao kinda suck but they didn't have other options for what they needed. a big defensive stopper at the rim. Can't fault Kerr for not having Bill Russell on the team
So double and triple team him into the paint and force the 3-point shooters to hit big shots. JR shot 35% from 3 in the series, Love/Shumpert 26% from 3. I'd rather run with the lineup that has more offensive firepower and defensive athleticism than 0/5 with 5 fouls, 2 assists, 1 rebound and 1 point in 19 minutes. I get what you're saying, but if I'm Kerr I'd rather take my chances with that small death lineup than 19 minutes of zero contribution from those two guys. If it's Bogut and he gets destroyed you live with it. Varejao and Ezeli are both bottom of the barrel bench players. Where was Livingston finding the pocket in the paint? When the Warriors ran their offense they were getting good looks (including what 5/5 Green wiiiiide open 3's in the first half). Why they stopped running their offense is beyond me. Too much hero ball and fine with shooting contested 3 point jumpers. A lot of that comes with not having a player that can go to the hole strong or finish with soft touch ala Irving/LeBron. As good as Klay's turn around and Stephs stepback is, they do not drive and score in the paint very well especially with LeBron rovering.
The biggest thing that is going to hurt LeBrons legacy is the loss to the Mavericks. I can see him winning one more before he retires and there is a big difference between 4 and 5 IMO.
Richard Jefferson to retire after Cavs win NBA Finals. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/g...efferson-to-retire-after-cavs-win-nba-finals/ I remember watching him way back when he was on the NETS in the early 2000s. The way he was playing in the Finals made you think he can go another 2 years.
60s were ruled by the Celtics, but the 70s, there was plenty of parity despite the # of teams. Eight different NBA champions - the most of any decade - and no back-to-back winners. Both decades had some great teams, with a lot of great players, so the competition I wouldn't say was weak back then. Just wasn't a large number of teams. The 70s alone was one of the best NBA decades of all time for sure. Shaq had a great peak and had one of the most dominant stretches for anyone [that 3 to 5 year period], but Duncan was better for a longer period of time and I think Duncan was definitely the better player. If Shaq had a better work ethic and hit his free throws, he would've been the best of all time easily. To me, MVP isn't given to the MVP most of the years, just the best player. I think the best player and MVP needs to be 2 awards. You can be the best player but not the MVP, which is what happened this year. It's like having the offensive player of the year and having the MVP in the NFL.
Russell never played in the 70s and Wilt only played 3 years in the 70s before hanging it up. When they clashed in the 1968 Finals there were only 8 playoff teams. Comparing then to now just reminds me of trying to compare quarterbacks from the 60s to now or even of the 80s. Their was no 3 point line. That's like a completely different games.
I think this title and the 2 in Miami put him in the top 10 for sure. This one specifically because he beat one of the best teams of all time. Duncan, I had a hard time putting Lebron over him, Duncan is one of the most underrated players of all time. We never really talk about him.
That's such an embarassing statement. How is 3 Finals MVP's, 4 regular season finals, 7 finals appearances w/ 3 victories not an all-time great player? It's obvious you're biased against him for whatever you feel he's done wrong to you.
