To Quote Bill Maher: "Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave a Christian religion, you should be killed for it. Vast numbers of Christians do not treat women as second class citizens. Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ, you should get killed for it."
Personally, I can't stand these political "discussions" that result from these tragedies. The issues in play are complex and multi-faceted. The minute politics are brought into it, it devolves into a bunch of "vs" arguments. Right vs left. Muslim vs Christian. Guns vs gun control. These discussions do nothing to solve problems. They just pit us against each other and perpetuate hatred which results in our political system of constantly voting for the lesser of two evils and accomplishing absolutely fucking nothing. There's going to be more attacks, more whining, and more voting for awful fucking candidates because they're on the other "team". I wish the two party system would die. I personally believe the two party system and its resulting binary thinking is a greater threat to our country than any Muslim or rifle. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
I sorta agree but you also don't want multiple parties and electing a president with 35% of the popular vote
Why not? I'm not a political scientist so I have no idea what sort of system would best encompass multiple candidates, but isn't diversity a core trait of being American? Why should our politics be any different? More ideas and options can only be a good thing. Call me crazy, but I think our population is intelligent enough to handle more options. I wasn't aware I'd "run away" on any post I made. Did you have one in mind or were you just doing the Ad Hominem attack thing?
I don't have to pretend like you don't know you posted earlier in this thread. This is exactly what hobbes would do. Or you can just wait another week and post a random post about guns that has nothing to do with the discussion to feel like you're the smartest guy in the room
So what exactly is your position on threads and participation? If I make a post and the thread scrolls like 8 pages and I don't post during that time it means I "ran away" from something? I don't really understand what you're getting at here. Most threads I post in I am a few time hitter at best. Do I have to post on every page of the thread or something is wrong? I'd hate to have to put you on ignore because you're an idiot but what am I going to do if that's the kind of thinking that infects you?
You know what? Forgive me. I am drunk at the pool. I appreciate you taking time out to drop in and diagnose the problem
The threat of being a pussy for the threat of being put on ignore is for pussies. Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
Like I said before... All he needed to do was absorb the idiology. He doesn't have to pass out business cards. Maybe all those who are defending , should pack up their families and go live their American life with a picket fence in Afghanistan for ten year and see how it goes. If you come back you can tell us all about it
What in the world are you talking about? With your attitudes towards personal freedoms about anything other than guns apparently, I'd say you'd be much more at home with the Taliban.
I'm taking about te fact that the left in this country want to covet and protect people with ideologies that would not do the same for them in return. Thus guy didn't check voter cards before he started shooting.
Nobody is coveting or protecting this lowlife. What some people are doing is recognizing that simply because some deranged dipshit says "Allahu Ahkbar" before committing an atrocity instead of "Less Filling" maybe we shouldn't be so quick to impose guilt by association on people who have nothing to do with him and are just as horrified at his actions as you are. Nobody is coveting or protecting ISIS. Americans have rights, beyond the right to own whatever amount of ordnance one needs to compensate for his anatomical deficiencies. It's sad that one the one hand you excoriate "the left" or "the media" for allegedly undermining everything you think makes America special when it doesn't seem like you even have a rudimentary understanding of what those things are. Is America great because you can get thirty six different varieties of mayonnaise at the Winn Dixie or because you can get 200 channels of unwatchable shit on cable?
Lol. The is a disproportionate amount of danger coming from one region on this planet . Does this make everyone from that region bad? Of course not. But when you have the cia warning of terrorists infiltration a "refugee" population that the president is bent on bringing here, then there is cause for alarm. I don't see much condemnation or strong speaking out from the Muslim community when we get attacked. I do t see them taking to street in droves with banners saying "not in our name". That's what I want to see. I want to be convinced and not have to feel like silence is consent. I see an administration that is more concerned with how I view the shooter or others who commit the acts than being concerned with the attacks. all you have to do is do some research on how this is all effecting Europe and you can see why people have concerns. My grandparents were immigrants and I never saw them wave or pledge allegiance to any flags but the American flag. They had respect for the country they migrated to, they didn't carry luggage full of hate and a want to force the laws of their land On to this one. I know many things that have and make this country great and they are quickly eroding under this kind of leadership . But let's not worry at all when they scrub the words referring to radical Islam right from the killers mouth.
