I hope when it's all said and done we aren't going to be wishing Sandy had dealt Wheeler instead of Fulmer for Cespedes. lol If that was even an option.
It's getting to the point where I'm not even checking what the nationals are doing right now. I'm more worried about us competing for that wildXard.
Brandon Nimmo, our first pick in 2011 out of High School, looks like he's stepping it up in AAA. He seems to be the kind of player that does everything well. No outstanding trait, just an all-around player. Hopefully he's matured now into a solid player finally. We may see him as opposed to an immediate trade. He may have pushed ahead of Herrera. If Herrera could surge also they both might help substantially. They both can run too. It would be a huge boost if they both can become solid players
I miss the days of "this team hits too many homeruns". No hit through 5 by a dude making his 2nd career start. I know our lineup isnt anything to be feared right now , but everyone is there tonight is a professional hitter. Get a fuckin hit atleast!
It's getting really frustrating watching our pitching not getting run support.....And guys like DeAza and Plawecki doing jack shit Grandy and Conforto gotta start getting something done
Really frustrating. If Plawecki catches that pop up we're out of the inning. Rivera catches that ball. That said, Loney was very passive on that play, very. Then Plawecki throws one in the dirt at 2nd... d'Arnaud back next week thankfully. I don't care if he has one arm. At least he has a pair of balls Get me Joey Votto....man o man
I've been banging the Jose Reyes drum for more than 2 weeks. Anybody ready to jump on board yet? Seen enough of this??
Outside of the pitching this team is unwatchable right now. When a 2 run homer is hit in the 6th inning it shouldn't feel like the game is over. Yet there was no doubt in my mind that Kang's homer was going to mean a loss for us tonight. The pitchers shouldnt have to pitch every single inning thinking one bad pitch is going to spell their doom for that game. Its ridiculous at this point. de Aza needs to be DFA , Plawecki blew a golden opportunity to be our starter, and the lack of speed in this lineup is alarming. At the very least Sandy should go get someone who can bat leadoff and then you put Grandy in the 3rd spot. 5 games out and one more bad week could put us 10 games back.
Bring up the kids that are killing it in the minors asap and see what they got. I'd just hate for them to trade away one of the pitchers in a dramatic move, when this ship has so many holes that plugging one of them isn't going to stop the sinking.
A little envious, my youngest guy is going to the game tonite. Citifield, a beautiful June night and Thor?!? _
If we back Thor up with some gotdam runs you're gonna have to send him to every game....sorry Sandy said yesterday that he's looking at all options, including acquiring a player. He won't be leveraged tho, we know that.
Walker, Conforto, and Lagares (just scratched) are sitting tonight This lineup is a disaster, with Wright, Duda, and d'Arnaud already injured
Looks like Lagares' thumb might not be holding up....let's forget about Wright too. Just gotta hope that Walker, Conforto, and Duda will be okay. d'Arnaud is still questionable you would think tho. Still need reinforcements ASAP one way or the other....
I'm still baffled this team thought David Wright would play more than half of a season. Am I seriously the only one who knew this would happen? This organization thought he would play a prominent role in October? My god...
Would've loved to see him get the CG SO. You could tell how pissed he was after the Freese hit. He'll get his first eventually though. Still throwing 99-100 in the 9th after 100+ pitches is really only something I've seen one other time in my life , and that was Verlander a few years ago. To think that Noah could only grow into a better pitcher too , is downright scary.
I gotta say, I really liked Kelly Johnson last year--a professional ballplayer who brought a lot to the table. Was bummed to see him go and I understood it--but I'm REALLY glad he's back. Must be weird for him, last year gets traded mid-season from a team he's obviously very comfortable with, goes to the Mets for a glorious run, then re-ups with the Braves in the offseason. And 2 months into this season traded AGAIN to the Mets. _
