Welp we have a series. Can't wait to see what happens in game 6. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE X using Tapatalk
What makes it look worse is the NBA did not suspend Green for something FAR worse in the Conference Finals. You could definitely make an argument for favoritism there too, they didn't want their glamour team going down 3-1 in the WCF and they sure didn't want the Finals ending last night so they suspend him for something far more benign, partially instigated by Lebron.
Well in my opinion with what he did against OKC , was that he didnt do it to a star player. If he did to LeBron (or Durant/Westbrook) what he did to Adams , he would've gotten a game in the last series and 2 games in this one. You're right though it shows a tremendous amount of favoritism. I dont think the NBA gives 2 shits who wins this series , but they want it to go to 7 in the worst way. And it should've ended last night cause as good as LeBron is , Green is one of the few players left in this league that actually play great defense. He would've made the difference by keeping him in check like he's done most of the series.
You might be right too (LeBron certainly whined enough in the postgame allegedly about being called something that rhymed with witch), either way it's just a horrible optic.
Maybe I'm crazy, and I get the angle of the NBA wanting a game 6, but in what world does punching a player in the dick not warrant a suspension? Not to mention Kyrie and Lebron's jumpers were falling. Green's biggest impact on the defensive side was clogging up the hole on drives with help defense. None of that would've seemed to matter with LeBron and Kyrie draining 3's. It's a shame that this game is marked with an asterisks when it really shouldn't be. It was time for he great players to take over. They shot 61% combined for 82 points. Give the guys some fucking credit.
It's worked both ways for Green and the Warriors now. They wanted to keep Green in the series for the Warriors to mount a come back vs. OKC, and now the opposite way when they want the Cavs alive into game 6 and possibly a game 7. Every player in the league whines whether it's them directly or 'league sources.' Steph Curry was fine when he was lighting up the 'Blazers. Now their unanimous league MVP produced the worst 3 game stretch in the first 3 finals game ever for an MVP in the finals, and all of a sudden he 'may need reconstructive knee surgery in the offseason.' Give me a break. Not to mention whether Lebron whined about it in the post game or not Draymond punched him in the friggain cock after he stepped over him. Go back and watch the gifs. He's a dirty player and the suspension was a culmination of him being a dirty player all playoffs long. There's also between being dirty and a cheap shot artist. The Bad Boy Pistons were dirty players in hitting players hard in the lane and coming around screens. This dudes targeting a guys man-zone. Would you rather get hit hard in the shoulder or abdomen driving to the lane or hit/kicked in the dick when you weren't looking?
I'll agree that Green has some dirty ways about him , but I wouldnt call him a dirty player. To me he hasnt gotten that rep yet even with the Adams nut kick and what just happened with him and LeBron. He plays hard on both ends of the floor , something that bout 6 other players in the league actually do these days. Thats the biggest problem in the NBA in my opinion. Guys go hard defensively and the superstars get angry about that cause they've gone through their entire lives without anyone being able to guard them with any type of success. They are all babies. Even the best like LeBron and Curry will struggle at times against a solid defender. The NBA knew that , and they knew that with Green in the lineup , the series ends in Game 5. Its more prosperous for them to have this series go as long as possible obviously. Even if the Cavs have just as much of a chance to win it all now , as they did before Game 5 started. 0 percent chance. If the Cavs were up 3-1 and that incident happened , Green would not have been suspended. And thats where the hypocrisy is.
I think we can give the Cavs credit while simultaneously calling out the NBA for being blatantly crooked. They are rigging this series by now suspending Green just like they rigged the OKC series by not suspending Green. And I do think they win game 5 at home if Green is playing.
Meh. Green earned his suspension. He's the one who is one flagrant or technical foul away from missing game 7 as well. That type of thing doesn't happen by accident. The guy plays hard and that's his style, but in today's NBA it's over the top (as much as I hate to say that). There's no defending hitting somebody in the nuts, btw. The first one they could have figured it was an accident, but after it happens again they pretty much have to suspend him. Green did it to himself, they aren't rigging anything.
Green kicked players I think on three separate occasions in the OKC series. Didn't get suspended, presumably because the NBA didn't want OKC to win in 5 or 6 games. There is no other explanation, because it was clearly intentional and dangerous play. Now the NBA doesn't want Golden State to beat the Cavs in 5 or 6 games, so they even up the series by handing out a suspension for maybe the most petty thing Green has been whistled for this postseason. The league is so full of shit.
Cavs are purposely going to go at Green in G6 just to try and get that tech against him in case their is a game 7.
Funnily enough because of time difference the finals are played from 10 or 11 am and the nba league passes for the phone tablet is very popular
Green was a repeat offender in the OKC series. The fact that he wasn't suspended then is outrageous. And now they go and suspend him? This one was less flagrant than what was going on with Adams, plus LeBron deliberately instigated it in the first place. There is no good argument for saying Green should've been suspended in the NBA Finals but not in the WCF. It's hard to say the NBA isn't picking and choosing to extend series. It was going to be very, very difficult for Cleveland to win at Oracle against a complete GS roster, so they removed Green from the equation. Or you could say the NBA just did it because LeBron is a big star as well as a huge crybaby and whined that the NBA needed to do something. It's ok for cheap shots against Steven Adams, but LeBron? We have to protect him.
Do the Warriors Finish their 73 win season, with a back to back NBA Championship tonight? Or do the Cavs force a Game 7? Can't wait!
