It'll stop when you start to make sense. You want to talk about guns, tell us why so many guys out there are carrying guns. What are they protecting when everything there is corn? And maybe a few meth labs. What are the crime rates in these areas?
Should I ask the next guy I see carrying why he is carrying? And yes we do have meth here. Cass county has it pretty bad because you have Lincoln to the SW and Omaha to the North so they are a big manufacturing area.
Not to pick one side or the other but did you ever think for a minute it might be cultural? I mean, I don't hunt, I don't really fish more than one or twice a year just to get drunk on a boat, I don't like NASCAR. Folks in the Midwest and the south and the Great Plains love that stuff. There is no explaining it. Same thing with gun ownership. I own 3 guns but I haven't shot one of them in 20 years. There was a time I was very into shooting -- target shooting. I'm really not into it anymore but my interests have changed. There are folks that like things different than the things you like. Some of it is cultural. _
People were talking about open carry and I simply made a comment about how its not uncommon to see it here ad the further west you go the more common it is to see. Unfortunately the intellegentsia of the North East and California don't really understand what's going on culturally 90 miles off their respective coasts. There is no understanding it if you aren't there. My buddy moved from Bergen County to AZ to live the life and he moved back within a year because it was a different world. Last time I was in NY visiting family that is still there some guy asked me if people still get around on horses here as a primary mode of transportation. I thought he was being sarcastic so I gave him a sarcastic response and he bought it. Turns out he seriously thought everyone still rides horses here.
