The only problem with that plan is Fitz's price will keep going up with every loss until the Jets are 0-6 and they finally give the guy a contract
If the Jets are going to be bad next year Ryan Fitzpatrick won't solve that. The real question is if the Jets are 3-3 after 6 and the QB play is weak will they fall into a trap by thinking that Fitzpatrick would do a lot better. Odds are he wouldn't. Not that he'd hurt the Jets at QB most of the time but he isn't going to make a .500 team more than a .500 team. BTW, I'd love to have him back for the year because he's entertaining to watch at QB. However I'm not thinking he'd make or break the Jets season by his presence or absence. They're offering him a good deal and somehow it has been twisted back around on them to make them look cheap. That's a disservice to the only team in the NFL that will let him start at QB next year. He should be coming back and helping the Jets with the image problem, not holding out and making it worse. That's pure chutzpah on his part.

Did he catch the ball? would've, should've, could've. All I know is the stats say 3-14 yards. You can hypothesize all you want about the one play Tyrod overthrew Watkins. I can say that about every play in the NFL. "What if Devin Smith didnt fumble? What if Fitz didnt throw a pick? What if what if what if.....
I think you should probably send MacCagnan a Fedex or telegram or something. They may have absolutely no idea how training camp works and what value it creates.
I'd like Fitz to come back, but at a right price and no later than certain time, but "fuck it let's xxxxxx immediately" is ridiculous. Can we let this thing play out, I'm sure FO is working on it and there will be a resolution.
I was gonna reply to Byz something along the lines of "Bring Fitz, keep 4 QBs and name Petty a starter" for drama value, but fuck it -- Sanchez + Tebow is better

This is going to end so poorly if we wind up raising the offer and he gets swallowed by those first 6 defenses on the schedule after holding out this long. I would have to take a break from this site, it would be a mess for months.

We are then back at square one on which QB gives us the best chance at winning and avoids being swallowed Fitz feels he's worth more cause he gives more, has tons more brains shows charisma and chemistry with his 2 receivers and has years more experience.....Geno...well Geno just wants a chance Gun to my head I am paying Fitz and living with that decision Phil Simms recalls his holdout with the Giants in 87 that lasted until 2nd pre season game ! lol Thinks Fitz will be back with Jets 1st week of TC
