haha I never really watched sportscenter but I do know it was at its apex when Patrick and Olbermann were doing it. Kournikova is one of the most well-known women's tennis players ever despite never winning anything. I wonder how many female tennis players in the last 20 years got the SI cover. Kournikova, Serena... any others?
Actually she was great at doubles tennis. She won 2 grand slam titles with Martina Hingis and ranked #1 in the world there. She also made a couple of Semi's and finals of Grand Slams. She wasn't a complete waste. She also quit playing at the age of 21 because of a herniated disk and bad back...which appears to be something posters on this board know a bit about. I used to watch her and man she had some killer grunts on the court on her serves/forehands
yeah but almost no one knows that because almost no one follows doubles tennis! if you asked people to name doubles players, they might be able to name the Bryans and that's it. Kournikova played singles for 6+ years and never won a tournament!
Anna was insanely hot. Carling Bassett was a cutie when she was a youngster. Her family has serious money. _
