actually mangolden that's kinda funny because in Colonial America they DID register their guns... albeit for different reasons. All men had to register for militia service and specify they had "good rifles." There are statistics from the time period on the number of privately owned rifles because they registered them out of pride lol. Its pretty much the only time period in our country's history in which they did register guns without dispute. The government encouraged the ownership and wanted to track how well their militias were armed statistically.... you know in the off chance those dirty Brits put trade restrictions on us and we had to go to war....like in 1812 or something
Forget that bolded nonsense, it is nothing more than simple-minded rhetoric from the gun lobby paranoia pumpers. You seem to think that guns are not used in crimes where gun access is easy; there you would be very mistaken. States with easy gun access have the highest gun death rates. You are probably correct that most of the guns used in crimes are illegal when used in cities and states with strong laws regulating their use- the problem is that every single one of them (except those smuggled into the US) began as a perfectly legal weapon. It is only due to theft (much of it unreported or falsified) loose regulatory processes, ignoring the law, and holes in the background checking system that they became illegal. That gun from the trunk of a car in a ghetto was often bought in another state with the sole intent of moving it into illegal transactions. The gun registration Br4d advocates above would seriously curtail such dealings. If a gun was used in committing a crime it would be traced to the last legal owner who would be responsible as an accessory in that crime. If a legally owned gun was stolen it would have to be reported in a timely manner, not after it was utilized in a criminal act. This would be no more "punishment" for a legal weapon owner than registering his car is.
How am I probably correct with how most guns used it crimes are illegal. I am correct with that. It's 100% true. And no a gun registry would do nothing to fix that. Try again gun grabber.
Hook. Line. Sinker... http://www.politifact.com/iowa/stat...-photo-fabricates-hillary-clinton-quote-guns/
Lol. I love how naive you are with Hillary. You must really be a dumb fucking SOB if you actually think she will do nothing when it comes to guns.
I don't want your guns, unless you are a criminal or crazy and for you to need to be told that over and over makes me believe you may be crazy. If a cop is shot in Chicago with a gun you bought legally in Nebraska don't you think you should need to explain how that happened?
Statistically, the people most at risk from gun violence are the owners themselves and members of their immediate family. So I look at it as kind of a culling of the herd kind of thing. It's the bowl cut psychos that go on random rampages that I worry about.
Hillary changes her stances on guns like every week. I'm sure there's been times she has said the opposite of those quotations. She appears to be very general on the subject and adjusts based on the audience. That's why I asked you how you know what her plans are earlier because it's difficult to tell and I can understand why people say things about her wanting to take away their guns-- she literally says it
Can you even fucking read? The quote and picture posted by 74 is FAKE! She didn't say that! Are you so used to believing lies that you don't know the truth when it is served to you on a silver fucking platter?
I understand it too - some people are motivated to just plain lie if it suits their purpose and others are too lazy to look for the truth if the lies fit their viewpoint. We have a perfect example of one of those "low information voters" active here right now. Our hope is that most low information voters of any stripe are as lazy at getting to the polls as they are at getting their information.
I don't know. I never thought of it but I imagine there will be uprisings. Gun owners won't go down easy
