I think for players like Petty and Amaro it is a big deal, because you want to show the coaching staff something. Coaching staff needs confidence that you can get the job done.
Amaro has been solid, continuing to show off his skill-set for the coaches, they are looking to implement him in the offense. Will be a good competition between Amaro and Quincy. Not much from the other 3 guys to be honest.
Thanks Byz you're right. I am actually mad I spent time on that. Anyway onto OTAs... We used to have a few posters who were great at giving a lot of the play by plays of OTAs. Would love some more of that!
So funny how TGG had already handed the ball to Petty last season and now TGG has him as the odd man out to even make the squad.
As much as everyone would like to be right, we haven't been watching these guys up close. We have no idea how these rookies are going to do or how they will progress. "He needs a year in the system", "he has all the tools", these are just things that we hear the media saying and we parrot them. Just because someone can "make all the throws" doesn't mean they will. Beyond that, the skills required to play the sport aren't set in stone. This isn't an RPG game where consistency is a number. It's more fluid. It's about what these players know and do with that knowledge. It could click for Petty tomorrow and he could play like an all star, I doubt it, though.
Well and good, but my point is there are at least 1000 posts here in TGG anointing Petty as the next great NY Jet QB. Now we have 100 posts suggesting he gets cut if Fiz re-signs! Thank god for all the TGG experts.

Fun hasn't been banned yet, has it? *Second of all, there might be 1-2 rabid Genobots but for the most part Genobots are more like me. *Thirdly, it's as simple as .. That's crazy talk! Surly Mac should mortgage the cap future of the team and stunt the development of younger QBs on the roster if that's what it takes to sign Fitz to get that one extra win in a 7-9 season
