Time Travel is almost as much of a turn off as introducing a scene with a giant cock and balls full screen. I know they already have zombies, witches, ghosts, giants, elementals etc. They just keep adding new plot devices that don't get explained. I guess I'll be waiting for the grand UFO landing next season when the real war begins to save them from the inter dimensional invasion.

Pretty good episode, not really a barn-burner but some pretty big things happened. Even Tommen joining up with The Faith has pretty interesting implications. Danny's speech at the end was pretty epic. So far this season has confirmed a few fan theories, most recently Coldhands being Benjen Stark. Next up: Jon (and maybe Meera) is the child of Lyanna and Rhaegar.
I always thought that Benjen was an afterthought as far as Coldhands, really weak way to introduce him though. That last episode was feelgood crap like a lot of episodes, although they manufactured a lot of the misery nonsense like Sansa and Ramsay. Wtf lol. At this point in the books, Sam is already at the citadel and he never actually saw his father. This is the stuff that makes these terrible directors worse. They're acting like the source material is worthless, when it's the only thing that made them worth a shit to begin with. This show is really going to go into the toilet, and the people watching the show who haven't read the books will eat it up because they don't know any better.
Finally got around to watching this last episode, late last night. Great episode! Khalessi's speech was so awesome! Can't wait to see her cross the sea with her army and dragons. I love that they are deviating from the book so much. Gives it an entirely new feeling to the show. It's nice watching it every week and having no idea what is going to happen.
Im in the same boat as you. Didn't really like the episode. Could really give a fuck all as to what happens with Sam and Gilly. Getting sick of Daenerys speeches, and that dragon at the end looked like cheap CGI shit. I feel like they left out important details from the book, and now they are scrambling to tie up loose ends. You're right as far as non book readers eating it up cause they don't know any better. Hope they close this season out better, and hope that GRR Martin finishes that freakin book before next season starts.
Couple different things all from Bran's vision. 1. Bran has to be able to warg into the future. The scene with the wildfire exploding is highly unlikely to have happened in the past, considering it clearly was a huge explosion that likely would have destroyed everything, which we have never heard of happening in the past. 2. Bran had a vision of the Red Wedding again with an image of Catelyn Stark paired with the White Walkers. Also, Brotherhood Without Banners was mentioned again in this episode. This all comes in line with Lady Stoneheart from appearing in the show.
I used to hold out hope that he'd finish the books. Now I don't care anymore, he's in it for the TV money and that's obviously why he wrote them to begin with. Now that he's already basically been greenlit to finish the HBO series, he doesn't care about finishing the books.
I think he will finish the book he has been working on, just because its already more than half written. Definitely dont think we get anything past that though. I hope he keeps true to his story, and doesn't let what happens on the show influence his story lines. I guess it doesn't really matter, because if he doesn't write that final book we wont really know how everything is really supposed to play out.
It really doesn't matter. I read 5 and a half books. He has been shit for most for book 4 and book 5 was meh in areas too. The show is literally the most popular in the world. Book readers complaining can shut it at this point and be grateful a separate medium is doing its part to move the stories forward. GRRM won't finish the series or if he does it will be way after season 8
As bad as the last book was, the show was dogshit compared to it 2 seasons ago. I skim through this shitty series and laugh at it. Be grateful? You're eating shit. It's getting to the point of not being worthy of connection to the books. Like that dumb broad that wrote Star Wars books about Leia and Han's kids, and Star Wars geeks went on about it being a continuation of the story. Fuck off with that. This is garbage. Kind of like Tolkien writing 3 books and finishing it with a Peanuts style comic strip. Unworthy.
So you're that guy who rides the book wagon to death. I see many of them going hardcore at some places online. You clearly can see the show is continuing to drive ratings even though the story is not to your liking. A few readers complain about this show yet it still wins critics over and the general masses of people. Also how is yours a serious complaint when you are literally just skimming through the show? Lmao!! Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones just set a record with viewership with over 10 million viewers. Hell, this past weekend, Memorial Day weekend, which is none to be horrible for any show, Game of Thrones had 3.2 million viewers, while all other shows average around 0.3 million. This show sucks! I'm tellin ya!
I haven't read any of the books. I like the show but I don't live and die with it. Some episodes are great, some can be a tad meh. It's entertaining and every once in a while you see some nice boobies. _
This season has been underwhelming, but I like where they are going with Arya vs the many faces God clan. Hopefully that will deliver.
