That Mehta article was pure trash. He claims the offer to be insulting and far below market value, but where's the market? Fitz has no "fair offer." He speculates that the Marshall+Decker absence was in protest for Fitz. It may have been, but they'd be stupid to do so. Being so close to the cap, and additional money for Fitz is coming out of somebody else's paycheck. How will players A&B feel when two veteran leaders helped force the need for them to take a pay cut in favor of somebody else?

Fitz can go take half the money and relocate again to be a backup somewhere. It's his right to make a stupid decision out of spite. I just don't see that happening.

I agree with most of this post but many of us just feel the potential drop off from Fitz to Geno is really not that big as you suggest....from competing for the playoffs and a fun season to shit show? All because of Fitz to Geno? Just don't see it that way. Everything is in place for a QB to be successful here

Definitely a bumpier ride if Geno hasn't improved much from when we last saw him but the net results will not be that drastically different....maybe 1 less win?

There's even a chance he's better than Fitz if he's improved a good bit....I know that's insane to even suggest for some fans but it's a possibility that has to factor in

In all likelihood neither are good enough so might as well roll the dice and save a nice chunk of change in the process
