I would take the Sharks but am leaning towards Pitt for experience alone. Sharks have yet to face an offensive lineup like Pitt can throw at them. They stopped Toffoli, Forsberg, and Tarasenko but can they stop Kessel Malkin and Crosby? We'll have to see.
Aside from not wanting to see the Pens win the Cup , it would be awesome to see Thornton and Marleau to finally win one. Also would be nice to see ex-Devs coach Pete DeBoer win it all. So many Devils fans thought he was the problem after Parise and Kovalchuk bolted and now its clear all he needed was just some type of talent to get a team back to the Finals. I'm thinking (hoping) Sharks in 6.
Sharks are the better team. The Capitals were the better team too though. The speed of the Pens and the contributions from all their lines is what has gotten them here. Truly a toss up. Depends who gets the bounces and gets better goalie play.
Sharks are the better team, but they have a long history of losing playoff series to inferior opponents.
Yep. That's why I was not offended when people did not believe in the Caps. (Turned out to be right) Until they prove they can do it, people will doubt them.
Great game. Martin made some wild saves. Pitt's speed is something the Sharks should be concerned about
The Pens should have blown that game open in the first, the Sharks were fortunate to have escaped ou of that first period only down 2 goals. Pitts defense has been excellent in the playoffs. I hate to say it but I think Pitt will win, they have too much fire power and their role players are better than the Sharks role players. Other than their top line the Sharks don't have the depth to matchup vs Pitt.
I agree. There isn't a fanbase out there more "fair weather" than the Pittsburgh sports fanbase. Before crybaby Crosby got there, you could walk downtown Shittsburgh and never even see a Penguins fan. Now they are everywhere. My old man said it was the same way before Jagr and Lemieux. Its also the same way with the Pirates. 5-10 years ago there were no Pirate fans. Every time I was in the city I would buy a ticket on the street for less than I paid to park the car and there was so many empty seats I would walk down to the behind the dugout seats and have a great view of the action. They have a beautiful ballpark there. Most the time the few "pirate fans" in attendance were there for something to do on a friday night and didn't care about the team. Now they have a couple playoff appearances and the Pirate fan is the crown jewel of MLB just like the Penguins fan is to the NHL and the Steelers fan to the NFL. Fuck that shit. if any of those teams went through a patch of rough years that city would turn on them so fast- steelers included. Fuck that fanbase and all their teams and I wish the media would call it like it is with Pittsburgh fans. NY fans are portrayed as impatient and rough. Why aren't Pittsburgh fans described as fair-weather and fickle? both stereotypes are true
There's a World Cup tourney going on this summer. They made a 24 yrs old and under team called Team North America. McJesus is playing, probably worth tuning in.
lots of international hockey IIHF just concluded in May to the surprise of no one, Canada won their second straight title and Russia underwhelmed (winning bronze with another stacked team) Russia's recent Olympics results: 2006 4th place 2010 lost in quarterfinals 2014 lost in quarterfinals three straight without a medal!
