The kiss of death. Trump had a shot at winning until loser Woody Johnson got behind him.

"I think it’s important that we do have unity. Maybe not the kind of unity we all understand, but we’ll have some sort of unity."

We don't understand why we're unifying, but fuck it, let's do it anyway! Go Woody!

The quest for unity is a bad one if the unifying force is perceived as anti-establishment. That weakens the establishment and the bonds that hold the party together. It creates a GOP that stands for less not more and in the process opens the door for further incursions on the concepts of unity and identity.

The GOP should probably be riding out the current anti-establishment wave and taking their lumps in the process. That's what would give them the best chance of emerging on the other side of the wave as the GOP. Instead they're opening the door for whatever is next and whatever that is it won't be what the GOP was.

I'm really starting to think that Trump is on a mission to destroy the GOP.

Yeah he seems like a completely altruistic guy looking to right wrongs for purposes that don't benefit him.

He is also looking to outlaw the designated hitter rule in the American League.

It's a publicity stunt that people took seriously because every other candidate were bigger jokes.

That thought has definitely crossed my mind. The GOP set itself up to be lampooned by just about anybody who ran under their aegis, but a guy with celebrity and money taking the opening was a horrific result for them.

Step 1: deport all the Mexicans who use water in California, American or otherwise...

Step 2: break the agreements with Mexico on water usage from the various river systems that flow out of the Rockies and let the rivers run dry south of the border.

    Just a guess.

He could also start by cutting water to the wine vinyards and weed farms in NoCal.
