Stokes, we have all witnessed your lovefest for Petty. What's the difference? After all, they are Jets players. If you indeed love every QB the jets have signed, why the hate? Pettybot>than genobot?
I think I missed that one... lol I don't think Geno is stupid, though. 24 on the wonderlic. Fitz scored a 48, Greg McElroy a 48, Ryan Nassib (who I'm sure you're familiar with" a 41. Cristian hackenberg 24. Chad Pennington /roethlisberger 25.. Jamarcus Russell 24... Mark Sanchez 28. Carson Palmer 26.... See where I'm going with this?
Doesn't that depend on the other two years? And would twelve make much sense in cap calculations? Nobody knows.
Newspapers do not have an opinion; their reporters should not show an opinion but the job of their columnists is to voice their opinion, which, generally, follows the opinion dictated by the editorial board. It amazes me that so many people do not understand the structure that newspapers use to operate. What must be remembered at all costs is that the editors really want the reader to have a need to buy tomorrow's paper to see how these things work out. If it takes more than a day, so much the better.
Twelve wins? Better check your diet. What did all the people who get paid to follow the NFL predict? What did our buddies in Las Vegas predict? Were they just looking for reasons to give away millions of dollars?
I dont care what they predicted. I said, and damn if they shouldn't have, could be a 12 win team. They were damn close. There wasnt a single team in the NFL last season that they couldnt compete with. Denver won a super bowl with a qb who was ome of the only 5 qbs to throw more ints than ryan fitzpatrick. There was only one team that looked dominant and we saw what happened when they played against good defenses. The games were close. So what is it? Either this team is good enough to make noise now or theyre not. If they're not and they dont feel that way, then why all the chatter about whether or not they need a veteran qb? I don't believe that number because I don't think Mac is that dumb to offer that much and I don't see Fitz holding out for more Unless it's some glorified one year deal with incentives then maybe....but a standard contract no way The original leaks were the same contract as Chase Daniel (around 7 mil a year) and that makes much more sense from the Jets and Fitz's side in terms of how this has played out so far
$12m is what I'm hearing is being offered. That's more than generous. Fitzpatrick should be on his knees blowing Mac for this deal.
Except for the following: A few QB's making at least 18M/yr 2015 Rec. Lifetime Kirk Cousins 9-7 11-14 Ryan Tannehill 6-10 29-35 Colin Kaepernick 2-6 27-20 (was 8-8 in 2014, but did have a SB appearance in 2013) Jay Cutler 6-9 67-67 Brock Osweiler 5-2 5-2 Fitz 10-6 43-61 When you know QB's like the above are making what they're making, it ain't easy saying "yes" to 12M/yr.
