Thought I would create one; here's some good insight on our players [unlike the Buffalo Bills] Via: @KMart_LI Bowles said Ryan Clady + Devin Smith are expected to start practicing in training camp #jets Todd Bowles said Jace Amaro is competing for a spot: "He missed a year. I haven't seen him play." #jets Q: Are Sheldon's days at OLB over? Kacy laughs and says, "We sure hope so." Adds, Sheldon doesn't get enough credit for versatility #jets The new guy: STC Brant Boyer ... Says his philosophy is "500 miles an hour." #jets "We're going to punch first." -- STC Brant Boyer #jets Chan: As far as QB depth chart goes, Geno Smith is w/ 1st team + "everyone else is competing. We're not putting numbers on everybody else." Chan: Geno's ahead "mentally" than he was last year #jets A faster @Godforshort says he's checking in at 309 pounds -- down from 320 last season Is anyone else having trouble using embedded twitter posts by the way? Happy Devin Smith will be ready for TC!
Yeah even copying and pasting tweets suck now too. For everyone it's best to copy and paste the text. Anything to get me from doing work today
Via @Connor_J_Hughes Jace Amaro says he's a tight end. Not H-back. Only does that in certain packages. Goal is to be three-down TE #Jets Rodgers says Dee Milliner has made a couple “great plays” in practice, calls him “hungry.” Name’s come up in coaches meeting room #Jets Boyer says Lachlan was “one of my favorites” in the draft. Loved him and his “big leg” #Jets Geno Smith...Wow Beautiful 40-yard strike to hit Thompkins for game-winning TD in 2-min drill. Beat Williams. Caps nice day.. To say least Geno to Amaro down seam again in 7-on-7. One-handed grab for Amaro. Pretty. Geno really having sharp practice. All passes finding intended target, nice zip on balls, threading needle on a few underneath. Looks comfy It's only OTAs, but it appears Geno Smith has been a star. Amaro, no role yet given his skill-set. Those that are wondering about Petty: Petty beautiful touch pass to Enunwa deep down left sideline. Beat Skrine. First real positive for Petty today Of the three quarterbacks, Bryce Petty the most erratic on throws in individuals. Geno sharp, Hack looks good, too #Jets Hack didn't get much reps today btw.
Ijalana getting about of work with first team. Clady out #Jets Some thoughts, the interesting aspect of this offense will be how Gailey uses Amaro and Quincy. To me it's one of the biggest storylines in TC. Quincy working decent amount as a WR/H-Back. Amaro making a lot of plays as a TE. Day 2 observations from Connor Hughes: http://jetswire.usatoday.com/2016/0...its-highlights-from-jets-second-ota-practice/
It must really KILL 95% of TGG (and Fitz too for that matter) to see tweets like: Geno Smith...Wow Beautiful 40-yard strike to hit Thompkins for game-winning TD in 2-min drill. Beat Williams. Caps nice day.. To say least Geno to Amaro down seam again in 7-on-7. One-handed grab for Amaro. Pretty. Geno really having sharp practice. It's really frustrating how posters like you mistake rooting against a guy for simply not thinking they're going to be a good player. I hope Geno becomes the next John Elway. I just don't see him even becoming a quality starter. Glad to see he looks sharp so far, because one of his biggest red flags to me has been struggled in simplistic situations such as OTAs. He's already impressed me by having good report out of camp, because that's much further along than he's ever been. Sorry I have to though. Relive this one for me though, per favor. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-...52680/Karl-Klug-fumble-recovery-for-touchdown
It does take more than one season to become a quality qb. I think people mistake the success of a few qbs to mean that every qb should be that way. Its simply not true. Even when healthy last season Luck struggled mightily at times. If it werent for rex and his nonsensensical decision, geno wouldn't even have played his first season. He woulda sat behind Sanchez. Nobody should have thought hed be ready at any point the last few seasons. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Looks like geno is picking up where he left off before the assault. Good to see, there's nothing he can do to better his situation right now but at least he is not making it worse
Your face smilies remind me that you are 0-1 in bringing VLT to NYJ while doing this. [Yeah - I am champing. I think I like that. LOL]
Not at all. I want to see Geno succeed. I'm just not confident he will (and some nice throws in OTAs don't change that).
Lets see hm make smart plays when they count in game. Practice was never his issue unless you count missing it and team meetings because he can't tell time
I'm actually looking forward to Geno Smith getting a chance to perform with our 2016 Jets. As far as potential; it's most definitely there. Kid has very good mobility along with nice athleticism. Has a really strong throwing arm as well. Can literally make all the throws. It's all about his accuracy moving forward. If improved, Geno could very well become a dynamic QB. I truthfully believe that after his first two season's of starting experience (with less than ideal offensive talent surrounding him at our QB position) that sitting out during his 3rd season last year was the best thing that could've happened to a young QB such as Geno. He not only has two years of starting experience under his belt but last year had a chance to learn the X's & O's aspect of the game from the sidelines behind a veteran in Fitzpatrick. Which could end up being a blessing in disguise in regards to Geno's mental approach to the game being able to learn Chan's offensive system from the outside looking in throughout his 3rd season last year. I wouldn't put it past Geno to truly break out & put it together this coming season as a 4th year pro. All the physical ability is there. He'll even have multiple offensive threats with proven NFL weapons in Marshall & Decker as well as a versatile 3 down HB coming out of the backfield in Forte. Not only a sick trio of Marshall, Decker & Forte to work with but he'll also have a should-be top 3-5 defensive unit protecting him too. After two years of starting experience (being thrown to the wolves) along with his 3rd season being from the sidelines? I'm not only willing but also anxious to see what Geno can do come his 4th year within the league this up coming season. The mobility. His athletic ability. Strong arm. It's all there. But if the game has slown down for Geno mentally? He could very well be on the verge of playing some very good football under Chan & alongside an offense that's pretty much fully loaded with primetime players. Maybe I'm saying a 'whole bunch of nothing' here but with all that said having a QB such as Fitzpatrick with arm strength limitations couldn't utilize the speed & deep threat of a Devin Smith. I'm of the thinking that Geno could flourish being surrounded by all of this talent (now) surrounding our QB position.
