It's unreal. These Jets writers could make a seamless transition to CNN because all they do is stir up non-news and make it sensational.

It's just what Genobots are hoping for.

I can just hear it next year "but Geno was the starter all through OTAs!"

The day Fitz signs his contract Geno Smith is done on the Jets. He has no leadership ability, no player's respect, and he's not smart enough to be an NFL QB.

Chances are Geno will be cut before next season starts so I doubt you'll hear it.

I'm not arguing that he wasn't recovering from a broken leg. I'm saying that he was healthy enough to practice and he never missed any time because of the injury.

Certain players are allowed certain privileges based on their body of work. One good year doesn't=miss offseason workouts and get handed a job in July. That's reserved for future hall of fame players and/or players with consistent good play in their careers.

Where is the money coming from to sign him? But absolutely he should earn it again for that very reason. He's "better" than Geno so it shouldn't be an issue to beat him out. All that other stuff you said is bullshit. If Geno is looking better but they stick with Fitzpatrick because of money then what message is that sending?

To be honest, this Fitzpatrick issue is far beyond an annoyance and is now just a huge distraction that is already screwing up the season. During OTAs, I would get the players in a room and say the Jets are making their final offer to Fitz - take it or leave it with a deadline of June 15 or so and do so publicly. If he doesn't take it, he doesn't want to play for the Jets and let him go. His choices are start for the Jets for $8 million or be a back up somewhere for a few million or retire. He is a one year stop gap to Petty or Hack at this point anyway. Why waste any more time on this guy? He's like Bernie Sanders. He hasn't realized he lost even though the rest of the world sees it. He's not worth all this attention and negative press. All this for a 34 year QB coming off a career year keeping the seat warm for a season or two for some young QB??? How many playoff games has he played in again?

Unfortunately your wrong, he did miss OTA and part TC. Please go back and fact check before you express and opinion that is incorrect.

He didn't fully practice or take full reps until after training camp started.

You keep bending a little and a little and a little more.

Fitz basically walked into training camp and few weeks later Geno got his face busted and the guy who was an afterthought in Fitz took over.

He shows up to camp day 1 and it will be an even more seamless transition to starter.

    Give it up.

Pay Fitz 10-12 mill and be done with it if we have couple of mil to spare

Lets say Ryan is only a 8 or 9 mil value Sorry to say, I just cant stomach GeNo taking the field

WTF I don't know a team out there that by this point hasn't got their best defensive player MW resigned (in leu of no trade) and is slow cooking their starter QB???? (Frustration showing) Hey Mac your head coach will have more than stop watch to worry about!

We are quibbling over a couple of mil not 20....its just getting to stuffy in here folks

Oh, is that so. Well history shows us that missing OTA reps last year meant nothing. It means even less this year.

You said he didn't practice until training camp last year. Now you're changing the argument.

The Jets can restructure Decker's deal without Decker's permission. But it would take away from next year's cap.
