Bummer. Nyquist reportedly has a fever and, contrary to earlier reports, will not be coming to New York for a rubber match with Exaggerator. A win would have gained him nothing, a loss would have reduced his stud value.

field pretty bad for the preakness and I guess the belmont will be weak as well

This sounds like an excuse because of the loss in the Preakness. Obviously Nyquist would be running otherwise.

    Totally an excuse.

I'm going to say it - the Belmont sucks and always has. It sucks to race, it sucks to watch, the food sucks, the booze sucks, the traffic sucks, the Park sucks, the grandstands suck. No one really wants to be there. Except they started this tradition 150 years ago with a distance race to beat the hell out of the field to find champions.

And while I'm on a decent rant, this is also why I hate the Derby. A couple hundred juvenile horses get the hell beaten out of them, all because their owners dream of owning the next Seattle Slew. Nyquist's dad - perfect example. Uncle Mo, amazing juvenile, Derby favorite and then scratched because of some bullshit virus and we never got to really see that horse in his full glory. But we see in just his first crop what COULD have been. His career on the track ended embarrassingly and any glory he has will have to be in the breeding shed. Shame. I'd say that horse deserved better, but he's getting laid all the time now, so all in all it worked out for him.

    /rant

I think we have a live dog in Suddenbreakingnews. That horse is bred to run forever.

Harris it's hard to argue with the top 4 favorites ,,,,,Exaggerator ( who's jockey just entered rehab so that's something to monitor ) Stradivari , Cherry Wine, and yes Sudden Breaking News,,,,,,,,if I have to throw someone else in the mix it would be Lani who was coming on at the Belmont. I am going to check the workouts and the weather forecasts as the week progresses. I really would like to throw one of the top 4 out to round out my bets,,,,,,time to do some homework lol

Very late Saturday. Race should be over first. More than likely very dry track on Saturday

That's the morning line, which in the grand scheme of thing, doesn't mean anything. That's just one guy's guess at what the odds should be. That's the big difference between gambling on sports and horses. With horses, there are no odds to use. You find out your odds after the race starts, and the morning line means nothing. With sports, when sportsbooks put out odds, people can actually bet those lines.

I highly doubt Stradivari ends up less than 2/1 when it comes to the actual betting.

Exaggerator will be lower than 5/1.
