Still probably too early to tell, but the extended forecast is calling for soaking rains at Pimlico on Saturday.

Forecast looks to be deteriorating. Now saying 100% chance of rain with totals expected to exceed an inch.

Bet with caution. I'll probably sit this one out.

What if you pick a mudder?

Are there any good mudders in the field?

The problem is that the odds will typically become so heavily skewed toward the mudder that it's not even worth betting. The prospect of laying $100 to win $20 isn't very appealing.

Put me down for Exaggerator. That horse came on way strong at the end of the Derby but just ran out of track.

Yeah, I wasn't really looking for a real response! :D

    I haven't bet on a horse in 20 years!

    I'm going with
    Nyquist
    Exaggerator
    Stradivari
And I really like Cherry Wine,,,,,might throw a big number on him to Show
I'm going to keep checking the weather if it is indeed a monsoon I will throw out the favorite and enter a bomb with the other 3 mentioned above,in all exotics ,,,it will most likely be uncle Lino

Look at Exaggerator's sloppy run in the Santa Anita Derby.

If its a muddy track I think Exaggerator will win...The problem is that Exaggerator is 3/1 and Nyquist is 3/5, which means the payouts are gonna be worth dick. Might have to throw Lani 30/1 or Collected 10/1 into the mix to try and make some $.

Even at those lousy odds, an Exaggerator/Nyquist exacta would pay well

Maybe you and I have differing opinions on what paying well means, but you'd be lucky to cash a $20 ticket on that exacta.

I think the best way to play this race is a $50 show bet on a moderate longshot, and just hope the slop shakes things up a bit.

Is there such a thing as OTB in the state of New Jersey? Sorry, my Horse Racing knowledge is rudimentary at best.

I'm not sure if there are OTB s in jersey but there are still a few in NY ,,,,If you google search it will give you locations.
As far as that exacta with the 2 favorites,,,,it will not pay much,,,last race it paid 30 dollars for a 2 dollar bet,,,the odds are much better on them for this race which would pay even less than last time

There are a ton of OTB in New York, not sure about jersey. You can go to any track and bet it though, and I think you can bet it online. A $2 exacta with Nyquist and Exaggerator will pay like 12-15$...pretty much pig shit. Not worth it IMO. However, if you throw a long shot into a trifecta with those 2, you can make some money.

I would not bet on this race. Either you are going to have to get lucky as hell or you just win without winning much $$ .

The preakness is my favorite race though I love Pimlico so much.

Rain starting at 6AM continuing through the day until tapering off to a 50% chance of showers at 4 PM. Could be sloppy, but could also drain if rain slows or stops early enough. Hold your tickets.
