That's a really solid hire if he's able to run his offense and is not restricted by the triangle. He was a good coach his rookie year with the Suns, then the talent got injured the next season. Let go prematurely.

The Orlando Magic were getting Frank Vogel anyway. Only other option is Blatt.

Well, I hope he's awful. I was really rooting for Rambis just to prolong the teeth gnashing.

    Everyone deserves a chance....

This is technically Jacksons third hire so it better pan out for his sake

Where is Willis Reed? Bring him back..

Amazing what the threat of a full fledged fan revolt can accomplish! The Billboard guys just might have started something big...

I'm okay with this hire. Phil needs to not force his coaching philosophy on him. Let Jeff run his offense, and his team his way.

Its really a win/win scenario. If Hornacek comes in and is successful? Great! If Hornacek comes in and shits the bed? Phil gets fired and the triangle retired... Great!

I'd be okay with that as long as the Knicks don't overpay him. His max deal days are over, and he's not the elite player / defender he once was, but he's infinitely better than what we have now. Rondo with Grant coming off the bench would be a decent PG combo. Plus Rondo could help teach him a thing or 2 so he could be the eventual starter when Rondo retires. I just don't really think Rondo is a triangle guy, so it may be a weird fit since Rondo isn't known for his sharpshooting.

Good point. Apparently he will have some freedom and won't be forced to run it exclusively, but Fisher was fired for changing up the triangle to make it fast paced, and Phil gave that as one of his reasons for letting him go. Quite interesting now that he's going back on that. I always liked Hornacek as a player, but I hardly know anything about his coaching career.

I get the feeling this is Phil's last rodeo here. Dolan probably was the one who told Jackson to move on from Rambis. That has to stick in Phil's ego driven craw as this is the second time (medical staff) he's been overridden by Dolan. I don't see Phil finishing his contract. Frankly, I don't see Phil with the knicks much past the end of this upcoming season unless Hornacek can somehow turn the team around PDQ.

Fuck Phil Jackson. He should take his triangle O and stick it up his ass.

Let Hornacek use Porzingas, and the rest of the players, as he sees fit.

When Phil brings in the best two players in the league we can run the Mythical Triangle O. Lol. Get the fuck outta her with this fuckin guy

Hahn and Humpty floated a crazy scenario for this offseason.

LeBron wins Cleveland its first championship since forever and earns himself a get out of jail free pass from the people of Cleveland.

He opts out and goes to LA to play with Chris Paul.

LA trades Blake a Griffin to the Knicks for Carmelo who happily waives his no trade.

Wade is a free agent and spurns Reilly's guilt trip and heads to Tinseltown, uniting the best friends for one glorious last run.
