Of course. I specified [who] was doing [what] to [whom] and that does not include [GeNO] mentoring [Hack.] When Walsh took over 49ers, DeBerg was the starting QB. He was taking the beating until Montana was ready. Of course, Montana was watching the brutal beating DeBerg was taking [they went 2-14 that year]; and he learned what not to do as a QB while watching that.

What does "Son, that's not how a QB is played. Watch, observe and learn." mean to you?

Just to make sure; that's not Geno correcting Hack. That's Gailey and Bowles watching Geno getting killed in the pitch, and telling Hack to [watch and learn.]

You are not a Jet fan by this post. Why wouldn't your "dream scenario" be if Geno,Hack, or Fitz started this season one of them lead the Jets to a SB? I know I wouldn't give a fuck who the QB is.

He deserves nothing. He's got to earn it. If he earns a chance and delivers then good, if he fails then good too, we can move on. If he can't do enough to earn a shot then it's time to move on as well.

    That's the point.

The point is to shut up the genobots.

[He fails even with all the tools. Got it?]

I think everyone can agree Geno got a raw deal, thrown into the fire from day one with Rex as HC and Mason running routs. No debating we don't know (and will never know) how Geno would do now that he's had a few seasons to mature and has a good team around him. The NFL is littered with players who never got a fair shake.

Hack was drafted as our future. The next year or two are in flux with Hack red-shirting and Fitz un-signed, but seriously, only way Geno starts ever again, any where in the NFL, is if Fitz retires within the next few weeks.

you were right up until (and will never know).. we will know. this summer. Fitz is gone he's not coming back let it go.

Geno Vs Hack Vs Petty ..

Most likely Geno wins It, first 7 games are brutal for any of the three... if Geno suffers and throws games away, Hack and Petty steps in as our new 1 and 2 for the year and Geno prepares for free agency next offseason.

We as fans should just get behind whoever the QB is.

It's what I think the depth chart will look like and also in order of readiness to start. Fitz is out of options and we're in a nightmare scenario if this reunion doesn't happen. If we bring him back it gives us our solid starter with a backup in Geno with starting experience and lets Hack and Petty not get rushed onto the playing field, not that I think Petty will ever be on it besides meaningless preseason games. I was low on Petty all along and thought we took him just because of need and where he fell in the draft but the Hackenberg pick cements my opinion the organization does not see Petty developing into an NFL starting QB.

i dont see what the defense and offense being shitty has to do with anything...

our secondary was shitty... guess what we went out and replaced them
our wideouts were shitty... guess what we went out and got better ones

geno is shitty.... guess what we should replace him with a better one

The poor reaction to the madden quote is ridiculous. I imagine how badly Geno would be roasted had he made it?

Also if Petty can't beat out Geno in camp - what does that say about Petty?

Petty - "oh no big deal, it's just a madden quote, we shouldn't think much of it"

Geno - "this MFer is the dumbest football player on the planet, etc etc etc.

Some guys get the benefit of the doubt. Coming off as a humble studious youngster hanging out in the offseason with the senior leadership of the offense will afford you that leeway.

Being a punk at the draft because you weren't drafted where you thought you deserved and getting thrown off planes and having your junk exposed on the Internet and not knowing what fucking time it is in a different time zone and missing a team meeting and stiffing a teammate for pocket change and getting your face busted as a result thereof and being a back pedaling pick six machine, not so much.

You do realize that is what fans from the rest of the league is saying about Petty? It's only Jets fans that are giving him a pass on it. And you all know if this was Tannehill or Taylor, your would all be howling with laughter.
