For sure. I just hope it isn't an every at bat type of thing -- Like the Flores standing ovation was for every at bat after that entire nontrade BS went down. That really irked me. Guy wasn't hitting for shit but received a standing ovation every at bat.

    True ace showing by Noah.

Cant complain too much about the offense tonight. Going against Scherzer with Reynolds and Campbell in the lineup , I'll take any type of win.

Hopefully tonight gets Grandy and Conforto going.

Great win. I don't know if we will ever see TDA back behind the plate.

The difference defensively between him and Plawecki is night and day. The throw to nail Revere was right on the money. If that was against d'Arnaud he would've gotten in there with ease. Gonna save a lot of runs against us in the long run.

If he can just a hit a little more he'll be good enough to be the starter going further. Feel bad for Travis but I dont think he has a spot on this team when he gets healthy

I'm sorry to be negative on a positive night, but what the hell are we going to do about third base? I feel bad for the guy, but Wright is useless. Did Alderson not seeing this coming? We couldn't resign Murphy to play 3rd base? Instead he goes to our biggest rival and is hitting .400

Couldn't get Zobrist and he goes to our other biggest obstacle in the Cubs. Is Reynolds our answer all year?

Dilson Herrera might be the best option eventually if Wright has to go on the DL. He's much more pro ready than Reynolds and it would be smart for the team to give him a decent look this year before throwing him into the fire next season. Either that or maybe Walker can play 3rd and stick Flores at 2nd when he gets back too.

I think in the long run Wright needs to be groomed into a first basemen.

There is not a more useless player on this team than Campbell.

Agree about Herrera. I remember Howie Rose saying he spoke to a scout that Howie said was nearly always dead on in his evaluations, and said Herrera was a "can't miss" definite star in this league. I am waiting to see that.

I agree with putting Wright at first for this year because we're stuck with him, but what's the point going further? The guy is not a true 2 spot hitter anymore anyway.

I'm really excited for Herrera. He's killing it in the minors right now so I think he's the first guy to get the call up if someone like Duda , Wright or Walker head to the DL.

Depending on how this season goes , I could see Wright retiring in the offseason , come to some financial agreement with the team and maybe join the coaching staff. This spinal stenosis isnt going away and I doubt he wants to go through a 2 hour process every single day for the next few years. Wouldn't make much sense unless he just loves to play.

In hindsight I really wish the team went to him in the offseason about possible moving to 1st. Todd Frazier was there for the taking and could've been a nice upgrade both offensively and defensively. Even if Wright was a butcher at 1st I think we could've managed.

It's going to be a big problem this year, and the fact we didn't resign Murphy is magnified now that he is on the Nationals. Not good. I hate to be negative but this team is so flawed I can't see us going deep in the postseason and wouldn't be surprised if Washington won the division.

Nats winning the division wouldn't shock me either but still a long way to go before that's decided. Agreed that we are flawed but they are too. All things considered the Phillies might be the most consistent team in the division up to this point but they'll will most likely fall off eventually.

Just remember if we resigned Murph , Cespedes probably isn't on the team , and could very well be on the Nats right now.

I love Murph but him not being here right now is the right thing. Just sucks he went to Washington lol.

Went to the last two games, and I'm going tonight. I'm really rooting for Harvey to get it together.

I was about to post how I thought Harvey was on and was going to dominate.

And literally 2 pitches later Murph takes him deep.

Time for Harvey to skip a turn and work on his mechanics.

He got hosed by Cabrera. He turns that DP and he's out of that inning. Then Conforto drops a fly.

He wasn't great but that wasn't all on him.

How does Cespedes signing affect Murphy? Oh yea that's right, our ownership is shackled financially. Can't afford to sign two decent players in one offseason. How the hell are we ever going to get anywhere? So I guess Zobrist was out of the question too because he would have wanted us to pay him. I'm so fed up with this team. Aside from shoring up the middle defense they have done nothing to take the next step. A couple small moves in the bullpen weren't bad but our lineup is incomplete. We were banking on our starters being lights out and that has not happened. It's going to take another monumental trade at the deadline to make us a series contender for a championship. That means winning the world series, not just getting there.

He was getting lit up. All those balls were smoked. Big bad Dark Knight, let's hear about his shoe collection now. I never liked the guy and now I have an excuse to rip into him and his inflated self-image.
