A lot of QBs at HS can do what Petty can't do. I mean you can interpret the quote anyway you want but that's something you don't tell the press or your fans. He couldn't identity the Mike linebacker last year and that's on tape. Quote has plenty of truth. I'm not a hater, would like to see him progress. Looks like Bryce Petty time has been delayed 2 seasons
If Petty doesn't light it up this preseason or at least show major progression, I can see this being his last shot. Maybe 1 more season. All resources will then go to Hackenberg if Petty doesn't show that progression.
Part of me hated that quote. Another part of me knows I could whip the shit out of most high school coaches in Madden using the lamest playbook available.
https://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2016/05/jets_bryce_petty_says_he_is_night-and-day_more_adv.html A part of me wishes that was a sarcastic comment, but I don't think he so.
Well first you said he didn't even know what a Mike was but in reality Bowles said he had trouble locating the Mike. Once. Huge difference. But yeah, HS QBs can do what Perty does. Same arm talent, release, mobility, athleticism, size, leadership. BTW, 90 % of HS QBs have moved to that same offense and don't know fuck all. It's not a talent, it's a learned skill. Give me a QB with talent and he can learn a skill. A QB with a learned skill without talent is, well, Connor Cook. _
The truth of the matter is that it's just a quote, and he could be screwing around. If he is not, then we have to keep things in perspective guys, he was a 4th round pick. Franchise QBs are few and far between. I hope the jets make the best of it and find out sooner rather than later if he can be a competent starter.
Jesus, kid. Don't do this to yourself. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...yce-petty-my-development-shows-in-madden-play
This was an interesting note: "Smith declined to speak with reporters Monday at Harris' charity event." Why not? It's just a charity event where there are usually quite a few media types invited to chronicle the event. Nothing? At least Petty had the good graces to address the invited media. _
I think the reporter caught him off guard. Obviously a young, handsome NFL QB has fucked off all summer. Anyone see his crib/condo on that show last year? VERY nice condo with common areas with pool table (pussy), gym (pussy), hot tub (pussy), on and on (pussy). Clearly meant for young, rich, bachelors. Dude has been banging.....ah you get the point. Then, at some lame public thing he was forced to attend, he gets asked some stupid question about his progress: "Um, ahh, well, um, you know, like, I really got good at playing Madden". And TGG erupts. It's actually kinda funny. Looks like a few on here haven't figured out yet that Petty was gone the moment Chad walked to the podium and said "With the 51st pick in the.......". Probably the same TGGers that didn't realize Mo was history with "With the 6th selection in the...."
And that's why Fitzy will be our QB this Fall, or we are drafting in the top 10 next year. And we will draft defense again in the first round.
Yeah it's obviously taken with a grain of salt but I still want to see what he looks like in training camp and pre-season
I agree with you about innocent comment. But the Jets drafting Hack should tell you alot what they think of him. Plus I think your just fooling yourself. If the Jets sign Fitz I think you boy Petty will be the odd man out. No way they cut Geno with Fitz history of getting hurt.
I wish Petty declined to speak with reporters as well. Instead of updating us all on his video game skills.
In my HS, the QB was able to those things. So that's a false statement. I know several HS QBs that were taught to identify the Mike and know fronts. Learned skill, talent whatever the fact STILL remains Petty still doesn't know it coming into his 2nd year in the league. What does this have to do with another QB in Cook? Don't be so petty, it's kind of pitiful. Also, learning and retaining knowledge is ALSO a talent or skill if you think about it. Petty should've kept his mouth shut, or at least say somethingdifferent.
