But we do not now how Geno would have played the last game. You cannot say with 100% certainty he would have played worse.
True. But you only remember the one where you win and your in but lose it. The playoffs are on the line all 16 games.
I'm not sure what your point is. Is it that we play our starter through week 16, get to 10-5 and then start the back up? That's quite a unique strategy. _
Actually it's you who insists on one-sided memory: let's talk about Fitz's poor performance in one single game (#16). I just reminded you that there were 5 other equally important high-pressure games when Fitz was excellent.
I've never didn't say Fitz was one of the reasons we was in the playoff hunt. But Fitz did what he done his whole career choke in the big games.
If Geno played like Fitz did this past season the fan base would begging to sign him long term. The problem with your argument is that when Geno has played he has for the most part sucked. (Actually statistically the worst QB in the league)
And there would have been an even better chance we old have been out of the playoffs by Halloween. But yeah, let's bench the starter going into the last game of the year. _
And here's where the excuse start to roll in--he never played with this much talent, bad coaching, one more year in the system blahblahblah. He's a fucking mental midget. Dumb fans like dumb players. I'm not Fitz fan, I was underwhelmed when we signed him but he gives us the best shot for having an entertaining season this year. _
Haha I wrote "At the Moment", so yes, Geno. I may have been a little too generous to Geno though, ranking the Jets in the Top 12.
Pats are the #1 team in the league with Brady out four games? LMAO! Yes it would, considering the other QBs on the roster are near bottom of the league. I agree that power rankings are a joke, especially before training camp even starts. If you want a good laugh, pull up last year's power rankings at this point and see how completely wrong they were.
That last second pass to Enunwa along the sidelines was absolutely crazy. I was sitting about 50 feet from it. Couldn't believe it. After 3 ints in the 4th qtr, any one of which should have put the game away, the Jets simply refused to die. And here we were again, just seconds after the 3rd int with just seconds left to play, Fitz hit Enunwa wide open along the sideline. As the pass was going there, my heart skipped a beat. Clear sailing to the endzone, not one defender in site. Couldn't believe it. Then, a Bill's DB recovered from being out of position and ran/lunged at Enunwa and JUST clipped him as he was catching the ball. Spun him a bit but man, if he managed to hold on, it was GAME OVER. SO fricken close. Oh Well! Another year on tap. Drink up!
yes, but right before that was a quick sideline zip to Enunwa with clear sailing 50 yards to the EZ. Bill's DB recovered JUST enough to lung/clip Enunwa while he was 'catching' the ball. Ball fell incomplete, costing Fitz millions.
lets face it.fitz will not take the jets to the promised land.either will geno.lets see what petty and hackenberg have to offer for the future.
As interesting as that may be, it's the perfect example of flushing the baby with the bathwater. There's a very good chance that GeNo is the QB under center at the start of the season. I'm not sure how to feel about that.
I know people say oh it just excuses. But the fact is Geno had some horrible talent around him. Yes he had Ivory and Decker but we all know Decker not a #1 wideout.
I can't tell about others, but if Geno did same as Fitz, it'd be all for naming him starter and cutting however is next. Seriously, if Geno went on a 5-games rip and showed maturity like in NE game, it'd be very impressed.
