    Its shocking for him to say that after 1 FULL season + off-season of getting into the NFL. This guy won't even be close to ready for like 2 or 3 more seasons. Definitely not what you want to hear, and I think the Jets FO is well ahead and knew this hence drafting Hackenberg.

    Wow first time I have been dissapointed with Petty on something. I guess Mac and company probably saw how far behind Petty was in terms of schemes and offensive play calling/reading defense that they had to take another QB.

    Hopefully Petty has the brains to be someone that can play at a high level and not sound like he needs things color coded for him like Sanchez did.

    Starting to think he maybe better learning things on the fly. He should get plenty of reps during the preseason, maybe that will accelerate his learning?

    Yeah, it was a innocent off the cuff comment to answer someone about his inability to read defenses and since he hasn't been on a real practice field for over 4 months he tried to rationalize it as best he could.

    Haters making way too much of it. High schoolers? Really? Lol.
