No , i just like to follow up drafts with whats to look ahead on college football for the next season. In other words i like to watch college football looking at prospects who will enter the draft in the year after.

Drafting a QB every year is a good strategy. Especially when you don't even have an established starter, much less a long term solution. All we have right now are hopes and dreams.

I think the 2017 college football season is going to be much more fun to watch from the perspective of someone like myself- one who's mainly interested in watching pro prospects but also likes to see top ranked teams go at it. This year the top 2 QBs played on non-nationally recognized teams, Goff at a shitty Cal team and Wentz on the sideline for an FCS team. This year your top QBs are at Clemson (Deshaun Watson) and Miami (Brad Kaaya, who reminds me a lot of Mariota from the pocket) 2 teams that will be heavily featured. Though not draft eligible, Josh Rosen at UCLA will also be on a lot, he's supposedly the next "generational" guy.

Some other good skill position players at big schools too: Leonard Fournette (LSU), Christian McAffrey (Stanford), Nick Chubb (Georgia) are all potential first round running backs, this is shaping up to be a monster backfield class. Mike Williams is a stud WR at Clemson. Virtually every nationally televised game will have NFL appeal at the skill positions, which is awesome to me. Reminds me of when Winston and Mariota were on every weekend at FSU and Oregon.

Monster RB class next year. To be honest, I don't expect to get Fournette (an AP, Todd Gurley kind of guy who will be a feature back for years barring injury (knock on wood)), and my next favorite from a running standpoint is Dalvin Cook.
Christian McCaffrey is an early Heisman favorite and I think he was snubbed this year on it.

I really like Brad Kaaya from Miami as far as QBs go. Mike Williams was set to be one of the first WRs off the board this year before he was injured in his first(?) game of the season.
Also a big fan of Corey Davis from WMU, great size and production. Shows good agility and speed for a 6'3" 205 pounder, some say he looks like a high 4.5's runner, but I almost never see him get caught from behind so I'm not sure on that one. He looks a little bigger than 205 to me though. Great hand and keeps his feet inbounds on the sideline and the endzone. Just dominates.

QB's to watch closely this year: Deshaun Watson, Brad Kaaya, JT Barrett, Luke Falk, Pat Mahomes, Chad Kelly, Baker Mayfield, and Seth Russell. Anyone anybody would like to add?

Cam Robinson Left OT at Alabama will probably come out early. OLB/edge rushers Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson also potential first rounders.

I heard folks were advising Fournette not to even play this year and risk catastrophic injury.

I saw him play at the Dome last year, didn't really look like he was dominating and the next thing you look up and he had 250 yards. AND he had a 90 yard run called back.

If Elliot went number 4 this year, Fournette should go 1.

Depends on what Myles Garrett and Deshaun Watson have to say about that. Also, Elliot shouldn't have gone number 4.

It was stupid to select a RB high when the stronger class comes next year with at least 3 first rounders lol

    Absolutely not.

I agree but in the Boys defense, he was a guy they really wanted and who knows where they'll be drafting next year and what there needs will be.

Fournette is going to be the best RB to come out since AP. Id pick him as the 1st skill position player taken but it all depends on what team is making the picks.

Unless Geno plays this years its unlikely that we get a top 10 pick though but he's a guy I would give up a future 2nd rounder for.

The Boys also drafted OL with their first round pick the last three drafts prior to this one.

They have good players all around except their CB position, was there a CB considered BPA above Elliot at that spot?

Elliott had the splash that Jones likes to get. I agree they needed CB/DB help but Hey...It's Jerry town ;)

It will be interesting to see how the Cam Robinson situation plays out. He was probably a top 10 pick heading into the season.
