Back on topic. This looks to be a nice sangwich: http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1018088-the-best-fried-eggplant-sandwich
It's unclear whether your last two posts are from another source or are yours alone but certainly gliding over "eruptions at Thesos" to focus on farming in the area to explain a rise in carbon dioxide levels is not a real scientific approach. I also find a lot of subjective statements with political overtones and little or no data. Not the best way to make a point. I think it is very hard for an educated person to deny the earth has been warmer in the last few decades than it was fifty to a hundred years ago but at the same time efforts to quantify how much of that has been caused by controllable human activity has failed dramatically.
Sam Sifton "adapted" that from a deli in Red Hook. I can almost guarantee his adaptation added the mayo at the expense of good olive oil and fine vinegar. Why would anyone go with mayo here? (Yeah, I know, because they were out of Miracle Whip.)
No no no. Fried eggplant on a "hero" should only include fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, extra virgin olive oil, salt pepper and a dash of balsamic. Roast beef or meat of any kind should go no where near that hero roll. _
I thought the beef was weird too, but not enough to accuse the writer of "adapting" that. I could see a little bit of very thinly sliced prosciutto for the salt.
