And unlike 007, soxxx, junc, what was that "all military are killers" jackass's handle... never tried to change. Geno's only overly stubborn opinion is, well about Geno. Even that wavered lately. Frankly, he is not the only one who wouldn't mind getting Geno one last shot if Fitz is not signed. The only real difference is that most here believe GS will fuck up that last chance while 007 thinks he won't. Frankly, if Geno does start, I'd expect everyone to hope he is better than expected. To paraphrase resident PC watchers, how'd you know the degree to which a term is offensive if you're not a part of the group? Who made you the judge that "cornsucker" should be less offensive to Huskies than N to a black guy? It's in the eyes of the group. "Negro" is a Latin word that simply means "black", as in color. "Redskin" is an accurate description of never before seen by Europians skin color. Neither of those words are inherently derogatory. What makes them unacceptable is degree to which they offend a group. And only when spoken by an outsider. So, yes, slang you use toward Huskies is just as derogatory. More interestingly however is that a person who cares so much about not offending certain groups would even consider a possibility of being offensive. Have last word. This is not the thread to continue this conversation. And frankly, there is no point of continuing it at all.

Well I'll gladly take the last word since there should have been no discussion to begin with. Had the word you found derogatory been directed at a group of people from a certain area, background, racial make up you might have had a slight basis for your reasoning. The fact is, the word was only directed at one poster, based upon a slight play on words of his user name and thus your likening it to derogatory terms aimed at groups that number in the millions is just ridiculous. Not sure what put you on this crusade but if the term cornsucker could do this I couldn't imagine what a real slur could do.
