Backstrom is the clear #1 Center. Trotz shuffled the lines around to try to create offense, but that was more about Kuzy's 2nd line with him, Williams and Mojo/Burakovsky not producing.
For the Caps, I think they felt Justin Williams was an upgrade over Ward. Just did not work out. I love Williams though. I love Ward too. He was great for DC.

NBCSN confusing the coaches and mispronouncing Johansen (he's Canadian, not Swedish, and pronounces it with a J, in contrast to Johansson on Washington)

They said DeBoer had a 5 game winning streak in Game 7s but that's not what the screen said and he hasn't even coached in five Game 7s

Right, good call on Williams cause that was a great move, he's a championship player. Can't keep everyone so I get that.

Ben Bishop either tore his knee or broke his leg. Taken off on a stretcher. Pittsburgh in 5. What a bummer

Surprised Tampa was able to take this one. Everyone stepped up. Drouin has been so great for them. I expected Pittsburgh to come out strong Game 2 and get to Vasilevskiy

I don't think I've ever seen a goalie get stretchered off the ice before. With how much pain he was in you'd have to think it's serious.

And then they went and won Game 1 anyway. Impressive.

    Better rethink your Guins pick

I don't understand why this is such a surprise to people. The Bolts have been a tough team to beat the past 3 years, it's not like they just came out of last place.

I honestly thought the Stamkos injury would slow them down, but they should surprise no one.

As far as the Letang hit, I did not think it was dirty, I thought Letang small size put him in a tough position as he leaned over.

Callahan has been a tough hard nosed player from what I remember, but never dirty. There should be no suspension.

X-rays negative on Bishop meaning no structural damage. Still possible a ligament or tissue is torn, etc.

I did not watch last night but no stamkos, bishop gets hurt, Johnson gets hurt, and Bolts win 3-1 in Pittsburgh after the Caps lose 3 games in Pittsburgh, 2 in OT, 1 after complete domination. It's a cruel world we live in. :)

Agreed, as is Killorn. Drouin has stepped up his game tremendously since being called up. Palat does his job even if he doesn't have the fancy stats to go with it. And Kucherov, well there's no need to have to say anything about his play

Did you guys catch the news? Callahan will not have a hearing, I think it's the correct call.

Callahan should've been ejected for that hit.

Also, I still think Pittsburgh will win the series.
